I would caution everyone to temper their excitement and momentary exuberance with guarded caution. These bills have not been "Dropped." The legal term would be, "Vacated" or "Dismissed with prejudice"

They have essentially been put in abeyance; meaning congress can fire them up at any time in the future.

Lamar Smith just introduced a bill under the guise of trying to stop child porn, when really it's more of the same in SOPA, this time invading our privacy instead of censoring the net.

Under H.R. 1981, ISPs would be required to keep a record of all of your personal and financial information, as well as IP addresses and complete browsing history for 18 months and send it to the US gov't.
