With such a high CTR, what's going wrong with my CPC?

f73e0dbefbb471cdab75afe72d7f961f.jpg See this ads screenshot to a Teespring sale.

I don't get why when I lower my PPC to the suggested rate I get no impressions, but when I raise it to about 0.50c I get loads - but with an awesome CTR. Shouldn't my CPC be really low by now?

The ad has been up nearly 24 hours. Do you see anything wrong here?

Your CPC seems alright for that CTR. FBs 'suggested bid' has been nuts for the past few months, I've been having the same issues with ads not getting reach at their suggested bids.

I assume you're advertising Teespring. Disregard the fact that you're selling a shirt and think of what image would get you engagement, things people will want to share and like. Funny/smart quotes, memes, etc all work well. Now put it on a shirt and start advertising.

I'm so tempted to just show my shirt on here, I swear my image is good and my shirt has a decent enough text & design. If I decide to kill this ad I may just show it and get feedback.

I think the feedback benefits could outweigh the negatives.

If you bail on it, yes. If you choose to continue to work that you will, for sure, be inviting competition in a back handed kind of way.

I guess this CTR is for news feed ads. If yes, then it's low. In fact average CTR for a news feed ads is like 5-8%. Try to get above and then the CPC might come down.

Yeah it's for newsfeed ads. Oh I didn't realize that's low. Okay I'll try getting the CTR up and will check back in here.

4a412c4f4a03955d0fed807165fd44b3.jpg Okay, so I've killed the ad and can show it to you uncensored now. Steal the niche if you want, I don't care, the feedback would be good though. What do you think about the reasons behind the low CTR? I've tried bidding low and tried bidding super high. What do you think of the targeting, the shirt design, ANYTHING that might reveal why the ad isn't succeeding?

    Thanks!

Well actually 0.30 cents is a good CPC in my books. It all depends on wheter you are breaking even or turning a profit. Did you?

About the design - I think the yorkie face is debatable, whether it could be left out or not.
The ad image, imo, should have some sort of a call to action like Click here to get one/buy one, Limited time, Get one here /now/.. Something standing out. I think that should be a ctr bumper. Other than that the ad img style you've chosen is pretty standard - center main tee and other options around it.

Let me know what else you think or even drop me a PM.
    Cheers

How often do you see women wearing black? Text on the shirt isn't all that fun, memorable, cute, funny etc. I'd revamp it and then get some real women to tell you what they think about it before you try again. If they're not all "oh that's so cute, adorable" yada yada yada, then revamp it again. Using pinterest could also provide you with some useful feedback before you try again on FB.

No I didn't break even, had no sales on it. Maybe the design just isn't very good, I don't know. My newest just-published campaign will have text on the image, I have this template: discount_style_yellow.jpg , the US is sleeping right now, so we'll see what happens when they wake up.

I know you say 30c CPC is good but some get CTRs of 5-8%+, I'm thinking that would improve things and make the ad-sale more cost effective. Having trouble pinpointing though.

Yeah knowing what women want has eluded me from day 1 lol. Thanks for the ideas.

I'd suggest limiting the age range you target. Who is most likely to actually make a purchase?

Personally, I think its a ugly design.

Make it more clean. Less text.... just a image of the doggie and 1 title/txt like "I <3 doggy"

We all love doggy. Thanks I agree the design looks too busy. I will also reduce the age range, I guess not many 50 year olds would go for this :p

Your design isn't really that great, as others have mentioned. Although red does attract attention, too much red can only hurt you. Make the ad cleaner and color-coordinate it as to not create too much contrast within the image (except for the border). And most importantly, have a design people will find worth liking and sharing.
