I understand MS has the largest marketshare and shit, I also understand they know not everybody that has to accomplish actual work bought the bs of "we're all tabletizing ourselves and the globe"... Fair enough. But, do you remember at school when they said I appreciate the efforts they're making, then they said but [some complaint here]... I need to DO shit on a computer, I need something to type in NOT shiny tiles for retards or buttons with flashy rounded corners (there must be some apple employee too on here..), editors to crank out code, shortcuts, ways to streamline my WORK flow (again, notice the word WORK here?). That's what an OS for a PC should provide. I'm sorry this doesn't bring ANY of that to the table. There was a time, a LONG time ago, when -as a guy who worked extensively on most operating systems including netware, solaris and a lot others- I was excited to read about rumors coming out of Redmond of groundbreaking new sql-like filesystems that would revolutionize the storage on the consumer and server world or even -I'll admit- some new coding paradigms/languages, I followed the script guy column religiously. But that was a long time ago, a glorified fisher-price gui won't do that, sorry. If I want a toy I'll go buy an xbox or an ipad not a computer, that doesn't seem hard to understand. Maybe, since you work for Microsoft you should consider hiring some CEO/CTO with the glimpse of innovative vision Microsoft lost a long time ago. Maybe that will help us wowing things once again. Thanks.
