As long as Google and other search engines exist there will always be SEO.

Everyone interacts with the everyday world using SEO so until that changes it will always be needed.

As long as there are sites will exist and SEO. It is worth remembering that AI only uses what people know, but everyone hides something:)

It would have evolved in many ways in 5 years. Google might not remain the number one search engine also in 5 years.
 
SEO is definitely gonna exist. No matter how much update google is coming up with and the AI tools are getting popular. But im bit worried about google as a search engine as chat gpt might be integrated with bing.

If you would still be searching for answers to problems as well as information on several subjects on search engines in 5 years time, then yes SEO would stille exist. If no one would be searching, then you have your answer.

i expect everyday seo to be dead, link building and pbns, there should be something towards ads, as tech is fast changing
leeches will do wonders and using anything authority will be the priority for most people
