Will SEO exist in 5 years?

From one side, Google is pushing updates every month and from another side everyone is coming up with new AI tool. Will this make SEO extinct in next 5 years?

If seo does not exist after 5 years,a lot of people will be affected here.we should prepare in advance for that situation.
 
SEO will exist forever. The AI cannot come up with its own information. But it will definitely get insanely hard, so much that even starting out with a low comp niche sites will cost 10s of thousands of dollars to rank.

Bloggers will become rare with this happening.
 
exactly where it's now. If Google falls, other SEs will take its place, so we will keep doing SEO for the new "google"

As long as internet exists people will continue looking stuff up on it, so Search Engines will still exist in one form or another
 
SEO being Search Engine Optimization will continue to exist as long as search engines continue to exist and search engines will continue to exist as long as the world wide web continues to exist.
SEO is going nowhere, it will continue to exist. What it is, is that human beings are pretty bad at adapting. SEO techniques and strategies need to be adapted to or rather evolved based on trends and NOWADAYS, such trends are based on new and newer technologies, ON A FAST AND ONGOING BASIS. Those who keep adapting fast, will keep running on ... those who are slow to adapt or do not adapt are even now already left behind.
Example, no SEO "experts" talk about optimizing websites for voice search .... (there is ALREADY lots more to adapt to, voice search is just 1 out of a lot !!! and expect a lot more to come now onwards ON A NON-STOP ONGOING BASIS .... those who are not adapting, please keep expecting further turbulences to keep happening).

People wanted to rank higher since the first business index existed. We saw it even in Yellow Pages when people called their businesses stupid names like A.A.A.A Plumbing to appear first.

Will SEO changes? Yes. It changes all the time.
But will it disappear? Hell no.
 
What do you mean in 5 years?
SEO has been dead for the last 10+ years.
 
I have seen the majority of bloggers in one of my website niches go broke due to Google updates. Every year, I see new people enter but leave finding out that it won't sustain for long. I have been there for 8 years, grinding and failing but I think it's almost over for my primary site now. No matter what I did, it just doesn't improve now.

SEO probably won't exist like today in 5 years if Google doesn't stop its stupid shit. And hence, we will be forced to either do a job or find other online methods.
 
There will be new platforms where we'll be able to apply old seo tricks. It might become easier actually.
 
Google is going nowhere. AI can't offer a solution to everything that search engines do. And if you are sold into the idea that openai's gpt will replace traditional search, think again. Bing invested in openAI so, they are not going to shoot themselves in the foot and throw away a $10 billion annually. They are planning on integrating it as their snippet, and that's all.

What could be interesting is if search engines, Google and Bing decide to train their own systems with AI to rank website pages in the search on relevancy to the user. This could see the fall of authority guided ranking and a new dawn to AI based serps. No need for regular penalties and updates because AI picks up content from the database to give precise results. The web in general will be more accurate and reliable, maybe less bounce rates. It's me thinking..
 
Google will be there forever. It's too big too fall or to be replaced. What is the first thing you think about, when you want to look something up? It's Google for 99,99% of people. ( who have internet access lol). It will get harder for sure, but it's getting harder every single day..
 
maybe SEO not google only, now other platform using they search engine more smart
 
SEO can't die. Check out Neeva's AI answers. It's just a rich snippet based on results scraped on reputable websites (high DR, probably) with links to them.

And about ChatGPT - it's just ML.

Every year for at least the past 9 years there have been SEO is dead posts. SEO is here to stay in one form or another.
 
I think it will get even better as they adapt to tools like chat gpt
