Will I get traffic to my site, if I do this?

As part of driving real genuine visitors to one of my clients site, which is in technology/smartphone niche, I just thought of an idea. My clients site is a news type one, that is uploaded with a lot of high quality articles, and they are still continuing it. So as a part of driving traffic, I am thinking about doing that with the help of android apps.
I am having 2 or 3 or more android tech news apps, that deliver the news updates about any tech stuff. So if I am contacting the app owners and if I tell them to add my client site too, in their list of website from where they get the news from, wouldn't that drive a lot of visitors to the site?

Please share your views guys, Would be a great help .

news: you got to have a mailing list on hand,I can imagine you will get some traffic from it - personally I m not a friend from FB - but for you perhaps think about a fan page!

Thanks for your reply mate. But I am sorry, we have a non disclosure agreement. So wont be able to reveal that, but thanks for your offer.
 
I suggest you consider creating social media accounts like Silvermember suggested. You can create a twitter and Facebook fan page for the client. You may also want to become active in related forums and perhaps spread content to relevant blog sites. I hope that helps.

What I think can boost your traffic are:

1. if your website supports RSS Feed, an android application can be made to cover max potential customer.
2. you can create a facebook fan page
3. A promotional youtube video can also generate max customer.

however, these are the things enough for you I guess.

In my opinion it all depends on the success of those apps, plus you wouldn't have full control over that. I would try and go for the facebook solution as well, as it seems to be the best way to create a community, easiest as well. No app programing required :)
