I run a few fairly popular blogs, including one in the Sports niche and another one which publishes listicles. Ever since I created a 'Write For Us' page, I've been receiving numerous emails from outreach professionals asking if we allow sponsored articles on our sites.
These sponsored articles aren't commercial in nature, and they usually only care about a link towards their client's website, the article's content can be completely different.
Almost 7 in 10 such requests are for casinos and gambling sites, and they're usually willing to pay as much as $30 to $40 per post, all for just 1 backlink. It seems like easy money for me, but I'm worried about what type of repercussions I can expect from Google.
According to the terms, they require that the link remain forever with a do-follow backlink, so I cannot no-follow the same and escape penalties.
Do let me know if you have any experience or knowledge regarding this.
