Will backlinks lose their importance in ranking?

To rank a website we need baclinks.my question is when i get the number 1 postion in google.suddenly i loose my 4 or 5 major backlinks.will it affect to my website ranking or not ?

It is a recurring method. You will eventually loose them when you don't add new contents.

It's possible if you lose your major links or stops adding backlinks, Meantime if your competitor builds more links then it also probably decrease.

no i mean as a example i have 50 website to rank first.so i got position number 1. so after two days somehow i lost 25 backlinks of my website.will it affect ?

Losing good quality backlinks will affect your rankings. Keep adding quality articles and quality backlinks.

pbn comes to mind , if it only taken 4 backlinks try 4 good pbn....

Possibly, if the matrices of your domain are less than those trying to rank on top position.

If you have done some quality seo then no you will not loose ranking on loosing some backlinks. But on the other if you are totally relying on backlinks and you have got ranking due to those backlinks then yes you will loose your rank.

That why we all said the longtail way , but the backlink steeling method got posted and seems quicker way to get to the top.....

Content is still king

If you lost 4-5 major backlinks then yes you will loose some rankings. To avoid such problems, you can add the fresh content as well as build backlinks consistenly.

It doesn't take much impact. But, sudden deletion of a bunch of links may lead to SERP dancing. Sometime it may settle down to lower.
