is it still useful to obtain backlinks from wikipedia?

Yes it is; the link is a nofollow but you will almost assuredly get click through traffic and haiving no follows as part of your backlink structure looks very natural to Google.

Wikipedia is a great source of links if you can get them even if they are nofollow, i am convinced they still give your site some authority and hopefully bring some good traffic too
