Wife and I need help please

OP, I am intrigued as to what what products you sell in your retail store and why has your market suddenly been swamped by competitors?
Why do you think your products will sell better online?
How do you plan to deal with the online competition?

I am sure people will think I am an arsehole but I think your question is just the usual "How do i make Money Online?" with extra decoration.

Good Luck but I would have taken you more seriously WITHOUT the sob stories.

1st of September sure came quick this year :D

That's a great quote, but alas, I can take no credit for it.

Mine is 'Bite off more than you can chew - then chew like f***!' - something that serves me well regularly.

I really like that tree quote though as it is something I learned a long time ago through experience.

There are many time in our lives that we look back and wish we had planted a tree 20 years ago. The trick is to make sure that in another 20 years time we don't do the same thing.

The important thing is not the looking back - it is using that reflection as motivation to take that action now.

What tony_d said about the planting trees 20 years ago and what you said about chew like f***, both very helpful actually.

The last 18 years we have been focused on building our business and learning how to be entrepreneurs. I've made mistakes over the years and had to rebuild before. The recession was bad too, it set us back about 4 years of growth and work just wiped out. I've had periods of working like a mad man and periods of losing or lacking motivation. But I haven't been dragging my heels or doing nothing for the last 18 years. What has currently happened is an unusual boom in competitors popping up and dividing the local market up while over saturating it. From my recon and network analysis, none of them are doing well and we are still the largest but our size is also our weakness. We do sell on eBay and amazon, but our systems and sales channels to maximize those channels are not fully in place yet. There are areas there where I am over my head and could use some help there. There is some things I know we can do with internet marketing to promote our business and there is other actions we've been taking that I can't discuss publicly. This has been an on going problem that I've been working to solve for months now, since it really became a problem.

Where I am at with internet marketing is I've read 100's of posts here and on the Warrior's Forum. I get bits and pieces of things. I understand that you essentially generate and drive traffic from places like Youtube, Facebook and high ranking Google pages to a squeeze page. From the squeeze page you give an opt-in free offer and then follow up with an autoresponder from your mail manager that gives n OTO, ideally with a recurring charge. You continue to build your list and market to it. What I don't know if the technical in's and outs of it. I don't know how to take all my ideas and create an offering yet or what is the best way to put all those pieces together. There is so many options and I'm dealing with so many real life stresses that I could use some guidance from some one who is doing it successfully and has no issue walking me through it without exposing their own pages and offerings. I'm not looking for a free meal. I need a mentor to answer questions.

Yeah, so you have the gist of it. Find a market. Do some keyword research. Then get started.
With your wealth of experience and knowledge this should be a doddle, what are you waiting for?

Nothing personal but with your work experience you should know better of what society expects from you and value you need to produce, not like this post you made.

Quote from a film:

"Nice guy? I don't give a s***. Good father? F*** you! Go home and play with your kids. If you want to work here, close."

Does it matter that this member was banned permanently? Are these methods reliable?

Ok, so I lack website experience. I'm not great with web hosting. I don't want to get a Facebook account banned. The landing page, should it be hosted at a domain or in-bedded in Facebook? I think I would prefer to generate traffic and direct it through Facebook, is that possible to do without raising ban flags on FB? That is just the start of my questions. What is the best way to get answers a bit of guidance?

since you already have an online store, i would recommand building social media audience related to the stuff you sell(on tumblr, youtube, twitter, facebook), and then be smart while driving that trafic to your website, that's the less time consuming thing you can do using bots and some services, and the more related to your set of skills i guess.

I am really interested in tis approach too. I would prefer to plan out site content and then outsource the upkeep so I can focus on building traffic, marketing and then directing instead of working on creating or finding content all the time. Is there reliable services for content?

My other issue is that we are trying to synchronize our inventories within our retail store with out online store, but I lack the technical skills to make this easy. I really could use some help with our databse and solving issues where we are in over our heads. I don't know where to go for solutions. Ironically, my journey seeking other solutions for income online lead me here and to the Warrior's Forum, only to learn the IM community is very resourceful when it comes to those things we needed help with to get over the hurdles in our own business as well.

The best way is to just start and learn from your mistakes. You sound like you do have some experience so look at your successful competitors and start copying what they are doing.

We don't go for the mentoring BS on BHW, so go to the relevant sections and ask your questions there.
People will provide excellent advice but we don't have time to help you run your business because we are too busy running our own.
Don't look to get spoon fed and apply what you have already learned.

Reading this forum and taking immediate action is my suggestion. I would also take Tony D's offer to check in with him to see if you are headed in the right direction.

I go back to my point earlier in this thread about making stories for yourself and the world about why you don't do things :)

Ok, so between here and WF I've been getting advice that is helping look at things through a new perspective. Here is what I have to work with: I have a mailing list of customers from Amazon and eBay that is over 13k people who have bought from us in the last 10 years. About 30 days ago I sent out a promotion to that list to get them to come buy from our website and didn't get a single bite. Other than that I hadn't considered other ways I could monetize that list as I saw them as a different type or set of customers than what is discussed here. Likewise, I have an organically grown Facebook page with over 9k likes. I am terrified with experimenting with that page as I don't want to get my brick and mortar's page or my own Facebook account banned.

So what can I do with this list and page that won't come back to bite my r/l BnM in the butt?

what stuff do you stock? i dont get what u want

I can't be specific in the public forums with my industry. But what I need I explained in my last post. I need to monetize my 9k facebook page and my 13k mailing list.

Sounds a bit strange to me idk....

What sounds strange? My wife and I are a family own brick and mortar that sells a little on eBay and Amazon too. We have a Facebook page tied to our physical business. My mailing list is from years of data building up in eBay and Amazon that we extracted recently. Our Facebook page likes are from just getting customers liking our page.

If I get into our specific industry and location, it creates bad plubicity and exposes my family, including my kids, online.

I suggest this is your problem, because I've seen this movie before.

You've had 18 years to do something and to start your recurring passive income stream, but you've been paralyzed because you've been looking for guarantees of success - you don't want to do something unless you know it's a 'sure thing'. And, because the pain of not doing something hasn't been strong enough to get you to do something, you've finally arrived at a point where the fruits of your inaction have ripened, and your income is rapidly drying up.
You now perhaps accept (at least, logically) that you NEED to do something, but that knowledge is made somewhat bitter by the fact that you also know you could have done something years ago, but you didn't.
Can we all relate to this? I know I sure can. I know there are no overnight methods or such, or guarantees of success, but I've been paralyzed because I've been looking for those threads where everyone says "Wow this works SO well!" and it has proof that no one has failed with that 'method' or idea.

wow, I am surprised that even some long-time BHW members actually spent time to reply to this guy.

To OP: What I don't understand is this, you claimed you have a business and I'm assuming a pretty successful one which has helped your family to survive through years now, and you got to this forum asking to be spoon-fed? As a business owner myself, I learned that NOTHING comes easy, I am not sure what kind of business you run but at least you must have learned doing business requires hard work and no guarantee of success.

With all these questions, what I can read is "Sorry, I'm lazy, I don't want to risk anything, and I don't want to do research myself, can you guys just lay-out a step-by-step for me?"

Does it matter that this member was banned permanently? Are these methods reliable?

NOTHING is reliable if you are just sitting on your ass looking for a magic method for passive income. Wanna live the dream? Go buy WSOs and go to sleep !

Ok, so I lack website experience. I'm not great with web hosting. I don't want to get a Facebook account banned.

Research yourself and learn. Create a facebook account just for this purpose to test out yourself - lack of experience is NOT an excuse for being lazy.

I think I would prefer to generate traffic and direct it through Facebook, is that possible to do without raising ban flags on FB? That is just the start of my questions. "Best way to get answers" ??? WOW, are you kidding me? Let me ask you this, when you first opened YOUR BUSINESS (the brick and mortar store that you keep referring to), did you just run around your town asking people this question, too? My god, you know how to use facebook, create website, run your own business for 18 years and you still ask "What is the best way to get answers a bit of guidance?" - my advice: get off your lazy a** and start to devote about 1-2 hours EVERYDAY to RESEARCH AND STUDY YOURSELF! Clear ??!!

Is there reliable services for content?

Now this is just another proof to show that you only want to be spoon-fed and lazy. Don't tell me you don't even know to search this forum and you don't even know how to read reviews and decide for yourself what service is good. So what do you do when you want to find a service for your so-called "brick-and-mortar" store? You go online, research and read the sh*t out of the reviews they have and decide, right? Why can't you do it with online service? Too hard to read reviews? Too hard to research for yourself? Too hard to spend time to do the work but too easy to spend time and ask on forum, I bet.

My other issue is that we are trying to synchronize our inventories within our retail store with out online store, but I lack the technical skills to make this easy. I really could use some help with our databse and solving issues where we are in over our heads. I don't know where to go for solutions. Don't make me laugh! First, and again, blame the lack of experience ? Everyone got to start at point A or 0 with absolutely no experience and they all had to learn for themselves. You want easy way, I have a suggestion, GoDaddy. No joke. They will help you with everything you need from creating websites, hosting, sync your inventories, teach you how to control inventory online, bla bla bla. They just need a little money for their effort. Fair and easy enough?

I am new here and indeed i find your contribution very helpful to me
thanks bro.
