I just love hand crafted HTML/PHP why would a CMS give me a better rank?

I just love WP because it makes things so easy for people like me, with little knowledge of site-related stuff. And it also leaves SEO to the plugin developers, who box things up with a nice pretty bow to easily digest the info.

Why would you do internet marketing if you did not even know basic HTML? Limiting yourself to "What the plugin developed thinks is good seo" is pretty unwise.

IM is a HUGE place to play in. You don't need to be a coder or have "coder in your blood" to play this game. I do know very basic HTML, but WP was a real big game changer for a lot of people, to get into having their own sites and so on. And is great for people like me.

I still make money in IM without knowledge of HTML. Who knew.

Dude, knowing coding and internet marketing are far apart. Also, you can't design a good landing page by just using HTML, you will need to know CSS, javascript and that requires effort.

You don't have to have Wordpress solely for S.E.O, but it makes some people's lives easier. When I first met one of my clients, I noticed he started to send me a lot of requests to edit content etc - I then suggested using a CMS like Wordpress to save him money and he loves it. Sure, I could have said nothing and kept taking his money, but I prefer to be honest and work in my client's best interests :).

I have ranked plain html sites highly before, so I don't think having Wordpress just for S.E.O is necessary (that is, if you're willing to put in the time to do all on-site S.E.O manually). In saying that, I personally really like Wordpress, and the S.E.O plugins that are available are awesome (Yoast being my favourite).

Wordpress is easy to use, first of all and FYI there are many seo whom i know who are ranking well and they dont know coding.
There are so many things which can be done automatically through plugins and its user friendly behaviour.

I have heard some argue that html and php sites are better for seo than wordpress.

If that would be the case, then only coders were rankings on top.

HTML is good for small sites, but not so good when you have a lot of content. Just think if you had 3000 pages and had to add a new menu to the header. You'll have to modify 3000 pages isn't it?

Wordpress has a lot of addons that can help you to rank better. Search this forum for more info..

Lets be real here guys, why the hell do you want to waste time throwing together websites when you can easily place all of your content on a template in under 2 hours, and have a professional looking website COMPLETED.

I know a lot of you don't like change, but you either adapt with the times or fall off while others get rich.

Think for yourself, you will waste time coding each and every thing to look better, on the other side you can it all in one go plus there are lots of themes and plugins which can make it far better than a basic html or php site.

Basically wordpress is very easy to manage you can make these and custom functions in wp very easily with the help of plugins and frameworks. There are thousands of wordpress free and paid plugins to make your desirable functions in website and wordpress is very simple, even a kid can start with wordpress.

Used notepad, Dreamweaver, xsitepro, wusiwyg html, and finally WP. Never look back since then, it is fast and furious.

Reading this makes me feel suprised that web developers haven't gone out of business yet...

They are not, because quality still matters the most ;)
If you need a complex system, we are still your best buddies :D

Because you don't have to reinvent the wheel, that is well, just retarded.

Many love wordpress because it's a very manageable cms. You could easily add tags for your article and you could easily install seo plugins.
