Why Skype/Discord groups are not allowed?

I saw a post where people say Skype groups are not allowed. Why is that? It's like the best way to keep yourself updated on CC.

Muppets and gurus, that's how it goes everywhere. Is that even a legit reason?

I understand it's not permitted to be shared or promoted here, but why?

It is considered promoting other forums as it takes the members from BHW to somewhere else.
