Well.. I dont know how many of them use the pinging service upto the mark. Some may use without knowing what they are doing.

Some even dont know that Scrapebox does have a pinging option.

Coming to the topic there are more conversations about this ping pong.

So here is the real answer:

Why pinging: let search engines to know that i have updated/added content to your website/webpage.

Main Advantage: better chance of becomming indexed

Time period: Weekly basis

You can respond with the following 3 based on your idea. I have made the answers based on my experience.

Why pinging:

I did months of posting on scrapebox with no links showing up. Then I started to ping the links, and thousands of links started showing up in google/yahoositexplorer.

Why pinging: Lets search engines / RSS aggregators know somethings changed

Main Advantage: Quicker indexing but I'm not so sure it helps a great deal. I almost never ping anything (except Blog posts) and my stuff still gets indexed (although it can take months). Pointing a couple of links at anything usually does the trick. If you're blasting 1,000's profile links / SB then it might help. I prefer my links to get indexed very slowly as I think it's more natural and I'm not in a hurry.

If you build it - point some links at it they will come :)

Time period: Only when a Blog post is published. Sometimes with Bookmarking Demon I'll ping a few links as and when I feel like it.

Thanks for the information mate..

which one did you ping? the blog URL were you comment or the URL of your money site?

It's crazy how much misinformation there is about pinging and how many people still waste so much
time overdoing it. Just because you "ping" something does not mean it will get indexed and there are
far easier and faster ways to get most things indexed than pinging..

- Wordpress pings automatically. If you have a blog, and it uses wordpress, there is no need for you
to ping everytime you make a post. If you don't believe me, make a new post on your blog and quickly
go to www.pingomatic.com and try to ping your blog. You'll get a message warning you that
you just pinged them seconds ago..

- Pinging profile links from xrumer and senuke is worthless and will not get them indexed.

With the amount of time people waste pinging things we could probably cure cancer or end world hunger..

Did you save all your comment links to notepad? How did you keep track of your months of posting?

Ping the RSS of your buffer site, don't touch your moneysite.
Use Web2.0 with ******** as buffering.

Good luck.

If I want something indexed quickly I use my Ping.FM account to post on a shitload of web2.0 pages, the links are often indexed within 6 hours. + you get some nice backlinks aswell.

Pinging blows in comparison. It's very uneffective.
