Whenever a freebie thread pops up on the homepage of the forum, our eyes pop out and we rush to write "interested, count me in, sir".

But many times we don't think about this.

Some person offers a free keyword research via ahrefs and we grab it impulsively.

For sure, in most cases they would be doing this to give out to the community (props out for these people!) but if you look at this otherwise, you don't know what the other person is thinking and you could be gifting them out your hard work.

So, whenever I see such threads the temption to enter arises and lasts for several lusting seconds then to realize there are other free keyword research tools and pass on that opportunity.

Maybe I'm just super-cautious and getting old, don't know, you tell me!

I think this is a bit over-thinking. Since execution is 1000x more important then the research.

For someone with experience and capital behind them, it's much easier to grab others opportunities and use them.

We just need to think about do we really want to participate in that giveaway and ask ourselves: Are we missing out a great opportunity for keyword research here?

If we're serious about our niche, we can do the keyword research ourselves.
