Why is ZennoPoster better than uBot?

I make lots of money as a programmer and I can tell you this is simply rubbish. First rule of efficient coding is NOT to re-invent the wheel. Unless someone else pays the bill of course... :)

Edit:

Why do you think we prefer the browser way? Much much much less complexity -> faster turn around -> more profits.
Just consider how much time it took SeNuke to go without the browser.

Using sockets gives you a quality product, if the tool is going to do heavy lifting, it is well worth the time to do it. If your just looking for quicker profits, sure don't bother but if you want your product to be the best you need to put the time into it.

SENuke took a big leap going sockets, I think it made the product 10x more valuable.

Can we stay on the ZP vs uBot topic please? :P

@BlackSEOWizard:

I am not creating a "product". I am creating fucking awesome tools for my personal seo arsenal. ;)

Regarding the "quality", the reason the web browser control has gotten a bad rap is because of poor implementations (i.e. SeNuke... or the standard web browser object in .net). Zenno is good because it has a great implementation, that 's why it 's so valuable.

I don't think you will get much else, this forum is very slanted to Zenno poster, and I am not sure if it is because it is that good or because there is something else in play. If you scour other posts, you will find the verdict that Zenno is amazing, and Ubot is useless.

In the end, I think you just have to do the leg work yourself and try them both. Zenno has a trial, but Ubot doesn't, but they say they have a guarantee period.

I'm using Ubot now, but I also want to try Zenno myself, I downloaded the trial but I really didn't do much with it, will need to redo a trial and check it out. I've been using Ubot a lot lately trying different tasks.

I remember you said that, but to be honest, if it is that complicated I'm going to outsource it. I have better things to do. If it is something you enjoy though and/or can whip out quickly, I'd probably do it myself as well. That is why I went Ubot, I want it for truly RAD (Rapid Application Development) and anything else I'll outsource.

I really need to see Ubot 4 released stable to get a good impression of it. Right now I can see a lot of power in it, Ubot 4 has most of the things Zenno has on it (minus the integration with third party coding languanges and ocr engine) but want to see for myself how well it executes. Ubot 4 seems like a nice jump but right now I keep running into one stumbling block after another (usually small things too) with the Ubot 4 beta and can't really use it for anything final.

The OCR is one of the biggest attractors to ZP but I was reading their tutorial on how to train it and it was practically gibberish :(

Here is my take on that, I was very attracted to that as well.

It likely can only do 10%, 20%, maybe 40% of the captcha, I really doubt they polished it off to be amazing accurate across the board. This is a big gap for many tools, no one wants to put the time into doing this right.

Most people, captcha is $5-50/month tops. It isn't really a huge deal in the end. But it is a very very attractive feature.

I understand that and I 'd do the same for one-off tools. But when we are talking about complex tools, outsourcing is neither cheap nor easy. Finding a reliable, experienced programmer for a hard task and for a cheap price is hard as hell.
Take for example me. I 'm awesome (:D) but I charge a shitload of money for really complex stuff.

Well being able to offset those captcha breaking costs is a major factor since it definitely adds up in the long run

Regarding Captcha, you should remember that they are created especially as a Turing test (i.e. machine should not be able to pass). It is not merely a time/skill issue. Making a 100% cpatcha solver means you have magically created 10-15 years of OCR research. :)

Not really, as I said most people use $5-$50/month in captcha, I haven't tested Zenno but I suspect it is somewhere in the 20% range. I bet a large percentage of people use less than $10/m and the top 1% users use much more.

Yeah but couldn't you train all of the ones that wouldn't work before? I wish I could understand the tutorial. Does anyone have experience with training the OCR on ZP?

I thought they were adding coding support in uBot 4?

True :)

The ability to toggle back and forth between the graphical interface and code view is, frankly, pretty cool.

I bought uBot a while back and haven't regretted it. No experience with ZP because I needed my bots to be distributable. If it helps any, I have yet to come across anything I couldn't do. +1 for uBot from me.

Glad to hear it.

I think he (and I know I) we were referring coding support like C# or VB to add additional functionality that isn't available in Ubot. Being able to switch to text version of the code isn't all that big of a deal to me and doesn't allow you to do anything outside of what you can do in graphical view.

Sure. It won't do that, but it's amazing how much easier it is to see your script in code view after you've created it. Mainly because the commands are still practically plain-language, it lets even a beginner make incredibly fast edits, copy and paste large chunks of commands, and really delve into complex bots with lots of code. It's like the difference between a black and white movie and color.

I think pro users will really appreciate the fact that they can create a bot with image recognition and only have to use around four commands. Don't programmers get tired of learning new languages? :)

By the way, we will have a trial available for UBot 4.

Jason

Most of these tools like Zenno and so on use common languages like VB & C# so you don't need to learn a new language.

What do you mean by "image recognition", how does that work?

Would it be a waste of time for me to get uBot 3.5 and learn it just to have 4 released shortly?

Also, why can't any of the ZP fanboys comment on the captcha training?

I got 3.5 2-3 weeks ago, it is kind of frustrating because the difference between 3 and 4 is significant and the bots you create are not cross compatible. Every time I use 4 to code something, I run into an issue and I am kind of discouraged about doing anything in 3 since 4 is weeks a way and I can't move my code to 4.
