Hi everyone

We have a site that is position 1 for a keyword in Google yet is not indexed for the same keyword in yahoo.

That said, yahoo is not even indexing our Twitter for the same keyword.

What the hell went wrong?

My understanding is that syndicated search goes through different data centers than Google web search. They are probably on different update cycles.

Strange because our site has been ranking on Google for at least 3 years (position 1 for that keyword) but yahoo just doesnt register it.

That would indicate that it is unrelated to the update cycle what do you think?

this is ez problem to solve

submit ur site rite now to the bing index. bing nd yahoo r together. so wat show up on bing go 2 yahoo as well. wait 20 minutes. if it not indexed within 20 minute or so bing hates ur site

next step would then b to contact webmaster support. they'll actually review why ur site isnt being indexed. u wait a few days and they'll tell u wat they think of ur site and whether they'll b indexed or not

You have to index your site on yahoo separately in yahoo search engine so that you can get your ranking over there.

and index it

Google and yahoo are two different search engines
i am sure you realized that by now
What ranks in google doesn't mean it will rank in yahoo.
What is indexed in google doesn't mean it will be indexed in yahoo
What is #1 in google doesn't necessary mean its #1 in yahoo.
That goes for bing aswell and other search engines.
So comparing Google rank positions against yahoo is meaningless.

Guys thank you very much and thanks elchacha for the links!

I realize that they are separate but we used to have an SEO agency and I assumed they would have submitted our site to Yahoo but they didn't.

you should sue them, imagine the amount of traffic you would have had from yahoo in 3yrs:D:D

I'd love to sue them unfortunately I live in a cunt ry (the "o" has been left out on purpose). Here in Austria sueing for most reasons won't get you anywhere or will take years in court.

As mentioned, submit it through the links. Usually within a few days it will display

Another simple problem just index it in bing and yahoo. Then you can rank your website as just like in google.

Problem solved....:cool::cool::cool:

btw for some reason bing is a massive bitch when it comes to indexing web 2.0s. the super fast indexation usually applies to fresh new domains or existing domains that havent indexed for w/e reason

web 2s take a super long time 2 index so id suggest hitting them with links if u want them to show up on bing/yahoo
