Why is everyone soooo into Amazon?

I keep seeing it not just on BHW, but everywhere.
Everyone is trying to rank an Amazon site, but why?

1. Amazon Niches aren't that easy.
2. Amazon pays peanuts per sale, like less than a $1 per sale.
3. Amazon doesn't care about their affiliates, bans often and payouts aren't weekly or daily.
And so on...

Like literally you can make 20x the income if you make a niche site or a dropshipping site.

So why is Amazon so popular, am I missing something?

I would like to know answer too. So following.

Why doesn't anyone go for local e-commerce sites such as flipkart in India?

These websites also give good payouts.

I guess that just Amazon already have loads of traffic to their website so they think that it should be easy to sell or to be affiliate there. And to build ecommerce website from scratch without any coding and/or digital media knowledge is really hard task. While Amazon's name is widely know worldwide and ur brand, for example, is not. This is my opinion.

I have done multiple Amazon Affiliate sites in different niches. Never really made much money off them. Had a few making like 25-30 bucks a month. Ended up converting those into different sites. IMO, you are correct that you don't earn much off Affiliates unless you are getting a TON of organic traffic. If your getting minimal traffic, usually isn't that profitable.

Amazon is doing it right. See the stock price skyrocketing this year.

Whole Foods, LOTR Rights. Alex Skills, Voice Platform, Amazon Video. Amazon Prime. Very promising. FYI, they also now have liquor license in pretty much EVERY state.

Because they present trust and visitors will most likely buy and if I'm not mistaken the cookie for amazon affiliate is 30 days so if anything they buy after (granted they don't go through another aff link) goes to your bag too.

Virtually everyone has heard of Amazon, people trust them. They send out orders quicker than you could dropshipping. Amazon sites are easier to set up than e-commerce sites

As far i think amazon is reliable and people working with amazon affiliate later on start their own FBA business or something!! Actually i dont have the proper answer so i am also following

Everything @whiteogreguy is true. Amazon is trusted by mostly of the audience, especially if you're targeting US.

Also, it is possible to even store the cookies up to 90 days, so unless the user reformats their comp or knows to erase cookies (mostly don't), you get all the goodies chunk everytime they purchase.

As with dropshipping, I have one in my connection that says after she made a sale, the supplier ran out of it, so she has to refund. So unless your making up your own brand or shop and have people to trust you the same as they trust Amazon, then it's a long way from here...

I don't know a single friend, family member, or acquaintance who doesn't order from Amazon. The company built a massive following and are dominating the world like no other right now. Scary part is they have a lot of room to grow too, so I suspect their stock will eventually double from what it is now. They are also the most trusted online source with probably only walmart even close to them in size and trust.

1. world's no 1 ecommerce store (You don't have to build visitor's trust before linking to amazon)
2. Millions of products and niche ideas
3. Best prices
4. 24hrs cookies

There are a ton of easy KWs for Amazon sites that pay very well based on sale price.

You are just not looking in all the right places.

2. This is not true. Amazon pays based on the category and the price of the item. For a 1000$ item/items, the commission is 45 to 80$ per sale usually.

What you wrote is very misleading. With the 90 day cookie, you will get a commission only for the product added to cart(the way to get 90 day cookie) if the user buys it after 30 days let say. If he adds something else(on the 30th day, which was not originally added) you won't get a commission for that.


Also your cookie is erased after the users click on another affiliate link for the 24 hour cookie.

Amazin is a hot shot for creating own business by setup an affiliate or dropship store.

I have researched the subject and the information is very controversial, but what I wrote is the conclusion I came to.

for the 24 hour cookie, I am 100% sure. The info is controversial for the 90-day cookie.

Who knows a cool trick to get visitors to automatically end up in a shopping cart when they click your link? I recall seeing something about that a while back.

Third myth: The 90 day cookie is a cookie
It’s not actually a cookie, it’s an extension of the qualifying purchase period. A cookie is something which sits in a customer’s browser and earns you a commission when they make a purchase. The 90 day “cookie” doesn’t work this way. Basically, if a customer adds something to their cart, then once the cookie has expired (24 hours after they first clicked your link), you still have 89 days for them to complete their purchase before you earn a commission.

This means that even if they return to Amazon from a different browser or device, and complete their checkout, you still get the commission.

This also means that if they come back to Amazon via somebody else’s link, you still get the commission.

However, what this DOESN’T mean is that if the customer adds a product to their cart, you now have a 90 day cookie and can earn on anything else they buy in the next 90 days.

Fourth myth: You get a commission for anything in the customer’s cart at the time of checkout.
Here’s where it gets confusing, and sales pages of various plugins and themes get misleading. Many people say that you get paid for the WHOLE cart at the time of checkout, whereas in fact you don’t. You only get paid for the products initially added to the cart.

Here’s the scenario:

A customer visits Amazon after clicking your link, adds 3 products to their cart, then leaves Amazon. Less than 89 days later, they return to Amazon, add 5 more products to their cart, and check out all 8 items.

You only get paid for the 3 that they initially added within the 24 hour window. This is still pretty cool, but it’s not how a lot of people portray it.

Remember, it’s not a cookie, it’s just an 89 day extension of THOSE products. If it worked how some people said it did, then customers would indefinitely extend the 90 day period forever by continuously adding things to their cart and coming back later.
