Why? Aren't they extremely annoying? Seeing the same message repeated over and over again in different ways drives me crazy.

Why? Don’t you find them unbearably annoying? Watching the same message get repeated over and over in different forms drives me insane.

Seriously, why? Doesn’t that get on your nerves? Seeing the same thing rehashed a million times drives me up the wall.

How do you have the patience for that? The lack of original thought is grating. It’s just the same message on an endless loop.

It just doesn't make sense, since most reports are rejected anyway. As long as the comment is somewhat related to the topic (no matter how useless or how many pages the same answer spans), it stays.

If it's a repeating or recycling of previous posts then it's against the rules and your report will be acted on.

The worst offenders are in when someone wants to buy or haf, it's evident bots running for first to goal, they interpret the ask and return almost the same generic AI responses.

These are clearly recycling but likely legit, it's coming from sellers.

Leave them if you must, but in normal discussions I think it's pretty unacceptable.

A lot of people use it as a sort of translation tool, as their English is not as good as they would like it to be,

I personally don't mind it when someone posts in English where it is far from perfect (I write that way often), but some people feel uncomfortable doing so and thus the use of ChatGPT or an equivalent.

If they are adding value and not just spamming, it is generally fine.
 
But I don't think they can delete them all.. + I like the idea that it can be used for translation, and i often use it in my regular life to write emails and stuff
 
The place would likely become almost dead (apart from the lounge) if they did so.

ChatGPT comments aren’t the real problem - low effort is. You can spot the garbage ones instantly, generic phrasing + zero thread awareness + no follow ups, that should get nuked. But banning AI outright would kill half the non-native posters + even legit sellers using it as a writing crutch. Mods should enforce contribution quality, not the tool used - same rule as spun content back in the day, if it adds nothing, report it.

Some are from people trying to write in English, so gpt like message or responses can't be entirely banned
 
If it creates value then okay if it doesn't just push the report button.
 
They are not omnipresent, almost, but not fully. They still depend on your manual report and they are doing a great job cleaning this forum.

YouTube, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, they are also full of AI garbage, we are not in a bubble here
