Why does my friend’s Telegram account keep getting banned even with minimal usage?

My friend’s Telegram account keeps getting banned, even though he only adds 3–4 people per day for business chats. Sometimes he doesn’t add anyone for days.

He uses a VPN, but the behavior seems very light.

Any idea why this is happening and how to prevent it? Could the VPN be causing the bans, or is it something else?

Yes it's the vpn. Telegram detects vpn. Lots of times it don't sign you in. And if you don't have the phone number associated with it you can't login.
Your friend is probably in this situation.
Use good proxies that should take care of it.

Some VPN IPs are heavily flagged, so Telegram may already distrust them before any action is taken.

Even if you stay under the limits, a low-reputation IP (like data center ranges) or a mismatched Canvas fingerprint will trigger a manual review or a shadowban immediately. Consistency is king.

If you want to grow your business then go for guy who can add members in groups, if you use your personal accounts for adding members then you can't get results

A VPN is unlikely to harm your account. I've seen cases like this myself, and I often use up to 3,000 accounts from a single IP address—either through a VPN or simply without a proxy or VPN. It's normal for Telegram to have multiple users on a single IP address. Many providers work the same way.

Look for a different cause—most likely, the account registration method or an inherent mismatch between the account's geographic location and the account's geographic location. This can happen with some providers, and Telegram can also change them frequently.

Previous multiple bans of accounts on this IP address can also lead to a ban.

Your IP address shouldn't belong to a data center; your IP address should be exclusively residential—that is, a provider's IP address.
