Why does my boss want to meet for coffee?

My boss asked me to meet him for coffee in the morning. Specifically to call him and meet for coffee. My co-workers and his boss (I guess ours) has given me praise and said I'm doing good... so why does my boss want to take me aside to "catch up" ?

lol I don't know.. I don't think I deserve to get fired... but I don't think I deserve a promotion yet.. I'm just starting with this company..
 
Could be for any number of reasons. However, the best thing to remember in life, is don't worry about things you cannot control. Whether your meeting is going to be a positive or negative one, it is going to happen!
Good luck.......it could be promotion.
 
In general when I would meet an employee off site when they were fairly new, it would be to let them know I was impressed with what they brought to the company and try to get to know them a little better to see if they were someone I would want o promote.

I think you are in a good place.
 
Remember that the "expectation" you "thoughts" about whats going to happen, are always worse than what really happens. If you know you have done nothing wrong, and are not working slower or worse than anyone else, then it's properly something good ^^
 
I hope it's a good reason to want to have coffee with you, but don't be surprised if you get hit on.

Now days you just don't know what to expect.

Actually, i think your boss doesn't have a coffee boy and since you re new you fit right for the job.

Joke aside don't worry, you don't fire anyone at coffee time it gotta be good
 
IMHO, just because your boss has specifically told you to call him and meet for coffee should not give you the butterflies in your stomach. It could all be a well-intended but private thing that he has to say to you. Or, maybe he is simply interested in you. Anyways, hope everything works out in your best interests. TC.
