Why Does Google Never Have Answer For These?

Do you know if your search 'what does & mean' Google would return with an answer that has nothing to do with the question?

Replace '&' with any symbol of your choice including $, you'd get same or similar result.

I saw this on reddit and decided to bring it here.


Why do you think it happens? Is it an indication that Google's algorithm isn't as smart as we expect or think it is?

What other mistakes does Google make, there could be many.
 
Google is broken. Google flags urls that return 200 http status code as redirects. And almost all new redirects these days have redirect errors

That's too bad. Lots of websites would be hurt.
 
Either the '&' in your search phrase is 1) a search operator or 2) it is considered a stop word and thus ignored.

Or I could have this completely wrong.
 
Yes, haven't tested this recently but most symbols are ignored I believe.
