Hello, everyone.
I don't understand one thing.

Some people replied for my hire a freelancer posting but all of them need upfront.

I have got bad experience with upfront.
One of the renter disappeared just after received my upfront.
He closed my access to his PC and blocked me.
So I couldn't find him anymore.

I think, to prepay is always harmful for the developers.
Account owners can close the developer's access at anytime they want, but the developers can't control the renters attitude.

If you got scammed, work with reputable people on the forum and then shit list them when it goes sour.

You joined like a week ago. I joined over a decade ago. If I was doing any business with you, I'd expect upfront.

Keep your deal conversations within the forum, so in case you got scammed you have evidence to request for a refund.
PS: no one will deliver any service without an upfront payment.

If you mean your upworks idea most people will expect upfront payment that's not uncommon for example unless someone pays me I don't normally do any work for them before hand unless they are actual friend or for some reason I like them.

The 2 deals I just had, as a (seller), I didn't request upfront

Plus, you should always do your due diligence, if the person seems dodgy, most likely they are.
You don't want to get in bed with anyone that may have aids.

Depends on how trustworthy the person in question is. There were/are users here whom I’d work for without any upfront payment as I know they’ll be fair with me. If I don’t know the person, I’d never work without upfront payment.

Build some more reputation on this forum perhaps.

True. I’ve yet to pay @Gogol for his consultation and it’s been over a year. We just trust each other that much.
