We all have different goals and different reason why we have chosen to get into the online business world. And I would love to know what inspires you everyday to continue working on your online business.

I'll give you a few of my reasons to start.

I would love to be location independent. I would also love to be able to live on my own, have enough money to make a family of my own. I would love to give back to my parents for all the help they have given me throughout all these years, and their sacrifice to help me out.

I would also love to spend less time working, and more time focusing on what I really love, which is creating music, and creating fun content.

I would love to hear your reasons, and maybe we can inspire each other.

It's just something that I fell into at a young age. Not much worked for me at first. I got different offline jobs and then slowly returned. Now I'm back at it.

I wouldn't say I want to be successful online. I want to be successful overall. A lot of us have entrepreneur mindsets and online is a lot easier to get into and learn. You ask a lot of people here. Some do online, some do online/offline, and some do offline. I plan to have a few different sources online, and open up a local offline business in a profitable, evergreen niche. Online can be very versatile, changes all the time. Offline can be huge through word of mouth and last a lifetime. I think having both would put you on the right track to "don't keep all your eggs in one basket".

I went a little off topic, but eh.

I agree that diversifying is a must. I am trying to focus on one thing right now, and hope to be able to invest in other things with the profits.

I want actually to be successful both online and offline.
I actually have my 9-5 job but the salary is not enough.
Moreover i'm taking master degree now so i need more money.
Doing online means the time is more flexible to you
Few years ago i started doing online business like affiliate marketing, flipping website and CPA but not that successful yet :D
But i'll keep learning. My weakness is that i easily get confused and i always like jump to one method to another method.
For example i saw someone success with their method and i want to try to be like them.
I realized that wasn't right because not all the methods will suit you.
I just need to stick to what i'm good at and focus on one thing first rather than jump from one method to another method.

Growing up, I simply didn't like any professions studied in the unis. I guess having a family full of entrepreneurs helped with the career choice :D

Success start from you and end with you.
Never copycat because our destiny are total differ.. Have your target and work over it. If you never get it right checked the steps you are missing and fixed it right...

Success is all what we want... But having money, property and others. Doesn't mean that we are successful but how many people u put smile into their face.. That is success.

Because I'm a lazy pig for getting my ass up from the sofa ;)))

I don't work well with others so that leaves me with very limited options as to what to do in the real world.
Success in IM is one of my only paths.

One of the main reasons is to be free and spend more time with my family, while also be my own boss and work on how I like and with what I love. I don't like any boss to tell me to work everyday, have to beg for a day off, when I need to work, and that I have to work overtime just because they feel like it. I seen many bosses treat people like trash just because they can, and I can't stand that. I want to be independently free and have time to do what I want and to spend more time with my family and less time at work.

That is what really motivates me, but I get most of my motivation to be successful and work harder in IM thanks to the people that told me that I cannot do it in my life, that I will never succeed in life and to stop dreaming because you can "never earn money by sitting on your computer". Thanks guys.

One of the main reasons I want to be successful in I'm is that to have the freedom to work remotely especially if I'm back in Africa I would love some income. I also run a charity and would love to use the proceeds to help people in my community, as that is what my charity is all about. I would love to spend more time with my family and don't have to worry about rushing back from either country because of job. I really want to actually try and make a difference in my community.

Touche because great minds think alike :)

9-5 job is not sustainable as the income is gone even before it comes. Want the freedom of being my own boss and having time for my family. My dream is also to help others financially and morally but nobody listens to you when you're not rich. Money speaks...

I am inspired every day to work online. Because I feel the need to help in my house. The salary in my country barely reaches $ 4 per month. And I want to help my mother who is the only one who has struggled to give me everything since childhood.

It's hard, I'm young, I get stressed and get bored easily. But little by little I am getting that determination that I want. Thanks to this forum and many people on the Internet.

I just hope that my mother and I can survive until that day arrives.

My goal for now is to get $ 100 a month. With that I would live well, then go climbing to an amount that seems reasonable. Maybe $ 1000 month would be my goal of total tranquility.

I see that most of you above me either:

* Want to be able to work less
or
* Want more time for what you love - pretty much want to work less.

To me, this is the definition of "quick cash"-mentality, which most likely will never work out long term.

I will give my 5 cents to try and change your minds set a bit.

The hard fact is that you will most likely never have to work less. Any business either online or not requires huge amount of work to be able to be sustainable long term. Most people who don't need a 9-5 - let's say, Bill Gates - is able to do so because they put in 15-20 hours a day for MANY years. Other luckier - like let's say Kim Kardashian - doesn't need to work 9-5 because here parents put in the hours to put her in a position where she didn't need it, and even then she had to work hard for it (working for Paris Hilton back in the days).

If you truly want to live the "dream life" here is what I think you should do.

1. Figure out what you love, something that you would be willing to do for free 10 hours a day for the next 5 years.
2. Figure out a way to monetize what you love.
3. Turbocharge it with IM.

Believe me, when you do what you love it does not feel like work. And who knows maybe you simply love IM and can start an SEO business or something.

Since I can now post links, you should check these out! :)

Bonus: The girl in the last video above one year later:

I love you and feel your pain, where you are from is really hard. For you to be earning foreign exchange will be great for you and your family.
