A lot of failed journeys have the kind of spending this guy was doing.
Trying to jumpstart everything by purchasing whatever he thought looked cool or useful, but without the knowledge to understand he actually needed. The guy didn't even pick his own niche, he just paid for someone to find him one and build the site for it.
He also kept saying a lot of what he did was because some guru said to do it that way. Seemed like he really bought into the idea that if he just did everything he was told he'd succeed pretty much instantly. When that didn't happen after like 1.5 months, and instead he got screwed by the guru's bad advice, he just abandoned the journey entirely.
