Why do people think flat earth is true?

Watch Behind the Curve on Netflix. The main guy in that documentary banks pretty good on selling the idea that the earth is flat (with seminars and stuff).

Also funny is some of these flat-earthers used a pretty expensive machine which could measure the rotation of the earth to prove the earth isn't spinning. Funny thing is the machine measured that the earth is spinning so they just said "we have to find a new way to prove it".

did you actually read the verse instead of going by the egyptian scholar. You can guess by the fact that the guy had to write a book to explain this instead quran being self explanatory about it. Another surprising fact is that the believers believe it came straight from the creator. :D
The book wasn't about the flat earth theory, it was something like Islam & science or stuff like that, can't recall the name, I found it on a trip there at a thrift shop, I like picking up translated books from different cultures while traveling.

If you look at the natural wonders of the world, forests, mountains, tropical island, you'll be hard pressed to find any kind of landscape which appears 'flat' anyway. The illusions of 'Flatness' are just encouraged by superficial man-made constructs... roads, buildings etc
