Why do people share their money-making methods?

This hit me just now,

All day everyday I see people make a thread on these forums sharing their ultimate money making tips ($100-$10000 per month).

What makes me wonder is why do people share those tips? As they do that, competition will rise, and the "market" will "saturate" because everyone is trying out that porn re-upload method to make some quick cash. This basically hurts the money-making method.

Now, I do not say that this is a bad thing, and, in fact, many thanks to those people who are willing to share those tips and methods with the BHW community.

But what do you guys reckon?

The methods listed are double rewards and a double edged sword. It hurts the poster because the methods dry up quickly and it helps them gain authority. Any affiliate links posted are removed, save for 1 thread where a shameless link to their "friends" affiliate program is bluntly placed in a vital paragraph (you know who you are, remove that link if you read this). As for the methods being released, they are there to learn from, twist and make your own. You can't simply just re-upload the same porn anymore and expect people to bust out their wallets and join your copy paste affiliate program.

Creativity and Wisdom are needed on every method, which a lot of people lack. I see post after post about how you should just stick to SEO for the best free results. SEO is more COSTLY with little to no results than a decent PPC campaign. You may spend only $500 monthly on a SEO plan, but for $5,000 in testing you can turn $500 per month into $10,000 per month. It is all in how your sales copy triggers someone to open up their wallet, punch in their CC numbers, and order from you.

Some insight from someone who knows what really works, and doesn't just post hyped up BS to gain affiliate sales.
 
While I don't share "ultimate futuristic money making, penguin-killing, hardcore Google-fighting methods 2016-∞", there a few explanations for this:
  1. Not many people will act on the method because they weren't spoon-fed enough.
  2. Some of the people who do act on it will do it all wrong.
  3. The creator of the method doesn't rely on that method for income; they either can't use it themselves or they probably milked the method until it was almost dry.
  4. The method is outdated and doesn't work, but the creator shared it anyway to receive "thanks" (you won't see this too often as most people will see through this trick).
  5. The method may not work well when following it exactly the way it was written, but somebody may get some use out of it by adding their own twist.
  6. Edit: I forgot this one. They may be already generating decent revenue from other sources when they found the method (which may be cost-prohibitive for them to work on), so instead of letting it go to waste, they share it here.

Simple answer .. They don't!

They rehash common knowledge, and call it a money making method, when in actual fact, it was information that was already available.

If someone was milking a method for 5 figures or whatever, they would not be sharing that method on a public forum. If it's a unique method, I mean.

This wouldn't be much of a forum if no one shared methods, would it?
 
Apart from the above reasons, some members genuinely care and therefore they share. There are a few such people that I can name, but I might forget one or two, so I won't name anyone. But I would like to take this opportunity to thank those genuine people.

Lets consider an example,
​ You have a bottle of water, you drank it and in the end there was one drop left and some approached you asking for water.. won't you give it? You drank all the water and you'd be thinking its just a drop.. You'd give.

Same is the case here.. after drinking all water ( i.e. using the method to gain enough ) you share to;
1) Increase your repo
2) Make it look like you gave something to the forum.

1. The method does not work anymore.
2. The method cannot be saturated, because it applies to every industry/niche/sub-niche/keyword out there.
3. 90% of users here won't act on it, 9% will try, fail and give up and the remaining 1% will succeed.
4. The "secret sauce" of the method has been intentionally left out in order for you to work your ass off to find it and only 1% of people will (see point 3).
5. Sharing is caring, especially when coupled with point 2.
 
Like most things in life there's a number of reasons already mentioned:
- some are just naive or super enthusiastic about a new found method
- some are attention whores rehashing irrelevant or generic shit
- some are genuinely interested in giving back

The hard part, as always in life, is weed out the bad apples from the good ones... No surprise: posts in forums are written by the same people that crowd the real world...
 
Most of the methods will bring success only to those who stick to plan. Those are read but are never implied practically.
Its also hard to say on which method is really genuine. Its always better to go through all these methods/journeys but make our own plan.

It is often because the methods stopped working (due to saturation/algo change) or author had moved to better method.
Why else? Teach man how to catch fish and you ruin a wonderful business opportunity, haven't you heard this?
 
All of the above reasons are correct. I believe that it is in human nature to help one another and in doing so, you help yourself. This type of 'giving back' can often lead to new and exciting business ventures. There are so many methods, tricks, tips, and information that if it isn't shared, it will die. By sharing it, we keep it alive and hopefully reinvigorate ourselves. Some of this IM work becomes tedious and needs a little refreshing to make it exciting again.

When I first came here, it was after 6 months of reading this forum and looking for ways to improve my online earnings. I had quit my full-time job in a slowly dying industry that I had been passionate about since I was a teenager. I decided to take the knowledge and experience that I gained in the real world and apply it to IM.

Today, I have plenty on my plate to keep me busy and put money in my pockets - both from online and offline revenue streams. It is refreshing to come here and read the same posts, journeys, and methods that inspired me to take action. Often times, I find myself giving back by messaging others and answering questions they may have. One day, I hope my assistance creates success for those individuals and opens the doors to partnerships and new business opportunities.

Never stop making money!
 
This question is more in the mind of people searching for methods than for people who are already making serious $$$.

My 2c

Having ethics when making money online is easier than when you grind offline. Because you can easier keep your ethics, feel good and make money, at a certain moment you want to help and share. Why? Because you were helped at a certain point and you realize that money is not everything. You need some internal drive as well. That one doesn't come from grind. It comes from helping and from growth. Both personal and financial.

Of course, you will meet people who are sharing methods for future sales/leads and commissions. Nothing bad as long as you are able to learn something from there.

The secret doesn't lie in copying one method as it is presented; the secret is reading a lot, understand as much as you can, take some action, see what doesn't work, compile some info from another thread with another thread and another one, make adjustments and be patient. In the end, you will have a business. And ethics.

...and you will help other people because that is what happy people do: help other human being.
 
Interesting thread, would consider those threads as "blackhat books" through which beginners can see or learn how some blackhat geeks making money online, obviously some fail, at least it encourages to take a step forward to find what works exactly.

Not all methods will get saturated easily, some deserve earning potential. An author who wrote a book "How to Be a Millionaire in Days" cannot be a millionaire, only an idea he might proposes.

Also this will really questions about marketplace threads, "earn millions from MNS", "make your keyword to RANK 1"...why not these people can earn millions with their methods, why should they sell them for pennies.
Looking for other replies also.
