Why do more people not do Whitehat Authority sites??

I really don't know how people are taking 2 years to get whitehat sites off the ground.. They don't take any longer than blackhat unless you really don't understand how to market. That's really the problem though. People don't have a clue about psychology, picking profitable keywords, what kind of content to write, how to sell to those people etc so they resort to quick scammy sites that don't last.

You can get a whitehat site to optimum profitability in 1-3 months quite easily. How could whitehat take longer than blackhat? Unless people are picking very hard keywords when doing whitehat and very easy ones when doing blackhat.

As I said above I suspect most are getting ranked well before that 2 year mark but they're just not monetizing the site well. Their epc won't be as high as in blackhat. Learn more about actual marketing, copywriting etc. Remember, SEO is not marketing, it's a technical skill. You still need to learn actual marketing if you want to make money.

Huge sites = huge money over time and that is the way I believe one should build a passive income empire.

Yep. Just like in offline business you don't see people trying to build 50 little tiny businesses, they build one large business and when it a certain point a real entrepreneur will either sell it or get it running autonomously under good management and re-focus his/her attention to the next business.

For some reason in online marketing people think making 100's of tiny 1 page sites is more profitable than creating large, legit authority sites.

You can also build several sites within the same niche too so you can share users between them and get relevant links to the next site from the existing.

Like having a large pc games site, you could then create an xbox 360 site and have links from the pc games site and get existing users to kick start it. Especially where social bookmarking is concerned.
