Why did Amazon close my account?

I am worried now as i am doing kind of same!

But i also saw sites like mine which are doing fine from years!

I would recommend you to fix it by using their images as source. Amazon is notorious for banning. Chances are low but you never know. It's an easy fix anyway!

Solution To this IMAGE Problem
I contacted amazon regarding this issue a while ago after reading their TOS. They told me to hotlink the images. Don't save the image and host it or you MAY get banned. Amazon reviewers are uneducated retards. Some of them follow the TOS while others don't. There are sites out there that do just fine by even listing the prices or putting something like under $100 which is technically against the TOS.

Just hotlink the images, so in the source put www.amazon.com/image and you will be fine. You can resize it or anything else you want. It just won't be hosted on your server.

Do this and reapply and you will get accepted.

Hi, I also a newbie to this field. Can you please explain what is described in this phrase.
"so in the source put www.amazon.com/image and you will be fine"

The letter explains what you did wrong, you can't use other peoples reviews or videos, that belongs to the person posting. You can use product images only, but you must let it be known you are a amazon affiliate

Pretty much the same thing happened with the account of a friend.

I was helping him to get approved as an associate. We've put a disclaimer, text only buttons without their logo, took product images from the Amazon site and bunch of other stuff recommended by a lot of affiliates. The site looks like the numerous Amazon aff sites around the web. Even I have a site participating in the program with nearly the same setup.

After the first few sales, they reviewed it and rejected it because of the use of copyrighted materials. None of the Amazon brands were mentioned anywhere, none of their logos either. There were no copied reviews also.

In the rejection letter, they allowed him to reapply after the inaccuracies are alternated.

Since he is a newbie, I should find a solution to this problem, and at the moment I am not sure where are the roots of the problem, so I know in what position you are in OP.

Maybe they rejected it because all of the images are hosted on his server, but a lot of sites are doing it the same way, and they are doing just fine.

I like the Amazon aff program, but it is clear as a day that they maintain double standards.
I like them too, but it's hard to get really approved since they ban account for every small mistake without giving you the time to fix it.

did you change file name when you copied pictures from amazon?
Yes I did.

Well now Amazon has Live Chat Support so I think better get hold someone from support and ask for more precise answer . Maybe they can check the details and tell you why they did it. It's lot faster than exchanging emails. Also they give robot like answers in emails.
I did send another email, I will post it below.

Sounds like a copyright issue mate.
Yeah.

Thanks for this!

I just tried to help you man. If you can't I don't care.
Sorry, I'll not provide a link to my website.

I am worried now as i am doing kind of same!

I saw lots of sites too so I thought that I'm not doing anything wrong.

The letter explains what you did wrong, you can't use other peoples reviews or videos, that belongs to the person posting. You can use product images only, but you must let it be known you are a amazon affiliate
If you read my replies you would see that I didn't use users reviews, images nor videos.

Anyways, I sent another email and here is what I got from them:
"We ask that you use these tools to create the links, especially the image links, that you need. The tools will automatically insert your correct Associates ID into the HTML code, which allows us to track sales from your links and will present you with images where applicable. You'll need to paste the HTML code into your website using your HTML editor or the authoring tool provided by your web host."

I downloaded the images and then placed my affiliate link there. I guess I should use their code to embed the images and the link. I guess that is the problem with my site currently so if you are doing the same thing as I am, consider changing if you want to make sure. Thanks everyone for your help! I'll apply again and change this and hopefully, they will approve my account.

Intersting... This is the first time I heard someone get banned when using amazon product images.

me too ... i use them all the time.

i know we don't speak about niche but can you tell us who made the complain for which pic ???

So I can use the images of the products on the sales pages (on the top) but not the pictures that are posted by the user reviews (on the bottom) yes?

I have been using amazon image(s) on the sales pages for years - and I guess the ones will are not permitted to use is the one posted by users.

You could use easyazon plugin, that'll solve the problem and you don't have to do it manually, it links to images within their tos

I don't know. I never used pictures from users that posted reviews. I used only the ones on the top, ones that show the product.

Yeah, I'll switch and see. If the ban it again, that wasn't the problem then.

so you used images in links to amazon?
I used links in images, yes. I guess you can't do that if you don't use their full HTML code.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look it up and see. :)

Hmm. Confused about how to use links in images. Which one is correct?

1. So I can't copy and paste image to my computer and later upload product image to my website from computer, change image URL to affiliate link (short links 'Amzn.to/random', or full hrml links) ? So that if user clicks on image, they send to amazon site. but if they right click on image and open image in new tab it'll show like this ' http:// yourwebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/image.jpg' (i see most affiliate use this)
or
2. I have to use HTML image links provided by Amazon instead of 1? so that if user click on it, they'll send to amazon.com but right click on image and open image in new tab the link looks like this "https:// images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/image_.jpg"

I would like to know this as well.
Most of the site I checked are build like you said in 1., but some of them have images from http://ecx.images-amazon.com/image and not https:// images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/image_.jpg
I don't know where to get http://ecx.images-amazon.com/image

Easyazon still hosts the images in my wp-uploads, is that legal?

For me my experience with amazon, they closed the accound because i didn't make any sale, but i created another one and they accepted again. You must only copy the code as they offered to you, without any modifications.

Just copy the images from the original supplier in the top of the page.

Amazon closed my account for what they claim was a violation of the Associate Requirements! I finally was able to determine that they claim purchases made from my link were for use in manufacturing. How they could possibly know that or hold me responsible for what someone may or may not do with an item is still a mystery to me! I'm assuming it's useless to try opening another account with my current information, so what is the best course of action. Also, is the Ebay partner program anywhere as good as the Amazon one?

Thanks,

Update for you guys.

I made a few sales and just now I got an email - my application is approved! The problem were images - you should take the whole HMTL code to host the images, not download them and upload them and then link them. I don't know was the problem the links or just downloading their images. Maybe if I didn't place a link within an image I would be fine, but it is what it is. Thanks for all the help guys, I appreciate it!

Are you using the same site? Did you mean that you are using the html code with small images from the affiliate dashboard? AFAIK, the images won't showing if your visitors use adblock.

Yeah, it's the same site. And yes, that's the code I'm using, but you can choose if you want small, medium or big image. And AdBlock is not blocking, at least not my AdBlock. I can see all the images with AdBlock enabled.
