Hey ! Recently find a nice way to have lists of expired domains.
A lot have expired in November 2023, but when I try to register them it tell me "not disponible" or "already booked".

Here the whois status detail :

clientHold https://icann.org/epp#clientHold; clientTransferProhibited https://icann.org/epp#clientTransferProhibited; redemptionPeriod https://icann.org/epp#redemptionPeriod; clientHold http://www.icann.org/epp#clientHold; clientTransferProhibited http://www.icann.org/epp#clientTransferProhibited; redemptionPeriod http://www.icann.org/epp#redemptionPeriod

I already know about the redemption period thing but isnt it so long ?

The best way to get it it seting up a python bot to check everyday when it become disponible, I guess ?

Thanks !

On domainexpired.net it tell me the domain is in status: "Backorder" and it get the
End Date2024-02-10

Depending on tld, periods differ. In your case, the domain can be registered on 2024-02-10. That backorder status, means that you can pay them a price, so they can take the domain with a domain sniper, before other get it. And if they do, you pay the price.

Thanks ! Do you think its worth paying them (for a .fr like I search its 20€ only) ?
Like im pretty sure if I try by myself I will not get it before them lol

Or maybe if I can know the exact hour when it will be buyable

If you think you can get it, then no. To see the exact hour, you do a whois domain.fr and it shows the timestamp. Now, it depends, if you can get it right away after 1 minute, or at midnight the next day.

To be sure, you can check a domain that expires today, and see when you can register it. Then you know for your domain.

Thanks ! But I only see this date on expiredomainnet, on other whois it only tell me the 2023 date when it has expired, nothing else

Should say something here:
Code:

For a domain worth $100+, it's surely worth it,
Even with backordering the domain, it's still not guaranteed to get, it all depends on how good is the domain

Which have a lot of high quality and authority backlinks from France official websites like tv websites and all this stuff.

And still ranking on 200+ pages when I do site:websitename. Just one thing, I can't see which keywords it was ranking for..

What it says? That you can buy the domain or a response from whois server?
It tell me this buddy:
Registrar WHOIS Server: whois.gandi.net
Registrar URL: http://www.gandi.net
Updated Date: 2024-01-XXTXX:04:59Z
Creation Date: 2010-11-XXTXX:00:27Z
Registry Expiry Date: 2023-11-XXTXX:00:27Z
Registrar: Gandi SAS

Here its for the .net one which is more interesting, I obfusced the exact time/date for evident reasons. Also I saw it is regitered on gandi so I check it whois on whois.gandi.net for better relevant datas

Well, the expiry date is the one without grace period and all. From that date you have to calculate the date.

Got it, thanks you a lot for your help. Not able to calculate the exact date by myself but one thing Im thinking about is that I can use the date given by expiredoomain.net and use the initial expiracy time to know the exact date and time when I can buy it, if its something that automated

Just test with a random .fr domain that expires today or tomorrow, and check it at the timestamp it says in whois or at midnight, France time.

You might need to check the history of the domain via the way back machine as well, it could be spammed in some sorts,
I would go for it despite this, you can get it work or even resell the domain(s) for $$$+

Sure thing,
If the domain didn't have any kind of content hosted it won't get any traffic or indexed,
But the links will still do the work once setting it up back to work,
It could be sold as an expired domain as well as it's clean

@hideath @TomTheCat Do you know a backorder service ? I saw nicsell but it look like this is more a auction system. I just want something where I put the domain I want and it try catch me it directly when its available, without auction
