Been on BHW for over a decade, seen tools come and go.
What I’ve noticed recently though—especially in the Twitter automation niche—is that if a tool isn't TwitterDub or Jarvee, it's instantly labeled trash, no discussion allowed.
Used to be that this forum was about testing, comparing, and sharing. Now it's all “delete first, ask questions never.”

Yeah, they shouldn't because it gets exploited by all third-party services, and businesses are trying to take advantage of the traffic here.
I am more than sure that you already understand this, but you act like there is no ground for stopping spamming and shilling.

I totally understand the need to keep spam and low-quality promo out of BHW—that's what made this forum valuable in the first place.
But there's a difference between stopping obvious shilling and outright deleting any mention of a competing tool, even when it's shared as a casual review or question.
If the policy is “no promotion of third-party services,” then shouldn't that apply equally across the board? Because from what I’ve observed, some tools get a pass, while others get auto-flagged regardless of context.
The goal shouldn’t be censorship—it should be clarity and fairness. Otherwise, this place stops being a marketplace of ideas and turns into a curated feed.

I get it—accusing someone of being “affiliated” is the easiest way to dismiss what they're saying without addressing the actual point.
But here's the thing: even if a user isn't affiliated, the second they mention certain tools, the post gets deleted or they get flagged. That’s not fighting spam—that’s gatekeeping.
If the tools are truly bad, let them get exposed through real user feedback. Silencing any mention of them just makes the whole system look biased—intentionally or not.
At the end of the day, people here are smart enough to tell shills from genuine discussion… assuming they’re allowed to see both sides in the first place.

Yeah, but they left enough footprints to have like 10+ accounts banned really quickly. I get that they wanna sell their software, but they are going about the wrong way completely. They focus more on spamming their name out there instead of actually working on the software. And now they even started trashing other legit software (Twitterdub). And that's one of the reasons why I am still continuing to monitor those threads and keep an eye out for these accounts.Someone forgot to switch their account
