Why are search trends falling off the cliff?

Because AI answers and zero-click results mean people search less and click even less..........

I think it's not just your opinion; several factors are at play here. First, the website buying and selling market has cooled down considerably, with less money being spent, fewer quick flips, and more caution.

Second, many people no longer search for "Flippa" or "website flipping" on Google. I think they go directly to platforms like Flippa or private communities.

Third, Google's changes (AI, much more selective results) have reduced traditional informational searches.

I agree with many who say that AI will be a key tool in the coming years; many people are literally searching for everything through it!

Google Trends is relative, so spikes in other niches can make smaller markets look like they dropped.

Search behavior is shifting to direct visits, newsletters, communities, and bookmarks.

Google SERP changes reduce clicks on generic keywords.

Some seasonality and macro uncertainty also affect Q4–Q1 searches.

Before assuming a decline, cross-check with paid tools, platform traffic, and actual deal volume. Trends alone isn’t a reliable signal.
 
probs just market slowdown end of 2025, fewer small site buyers. It’s probably not one magic reason just how trends move.
