I'm looking at search trends across site flipping-related keywords.

Like Flippa, Empire Flippers, website flipping etc.

Almost all of them had a sharp drop in terms of search volume sometime around October 2025.

What is the reason for this?

Smooth brain here, please guide me along tia

Lots and lots of site got hit in last 2 years. Most site listed there got hit by one or more google update. So the projection they give and hence the price they ask is simply not correct. Earlier sites usually use to recover. That simply is not the case anymore. So people stopped buying sites listed there.

The drop you are seeing does not mean the niche is dying. Google changed how it tracks and reports search data around October 2025, which made many keywords suddenly show lower numbers. It is mostly a reporting change, not a real drop in demand.

It looks like fewer people are searching for site flipping lately, so the trend just naturally went down.

I think people are after real scalable business and not.judy fuses
Nothing more than an AI disruption

Might be something to do with the num=100 parameter being removed, so many tools aren't looking at as many search positions to determine what sort of traffic a site is getting.

Search trends are falling because people now search less on Google and more on social media, AI tools, and apps, and many answers are shown directly without needing clicks.

Search trends are falling because AI answers, social discovery platforms, and in-app search are replacing traditional search queries faster than before.

Many channels have developed strongly and effectively thanks to artificial intelligence.

I think, the market isn't dead, it's simply shifting from "quantity" to "quality." Today's buyers are more discerning and focused on assets with real cash flow, rather than just superficial SEO metrics.

AI is developing rapidly, and most people are shifting toward searching through AI instead of Google like before.

That's correct. By 2026, AI will no longer be a "secondary tool" but will have become the main platform enabling YouTube channels to achieve significant breakthroughs.

Search trends drop when users shift to apps, social media, or AI tools for answers, reducing traditional search traffic even for popular topics.

This is exactly how it works.

BH stuff isn't displayed like everything else, ai search also plays a role, but if you type manually in the search bar or url, you will see a more realistic interpretation, but the reporting is diluted and suppressed.

Search trends are dropping because more people are getting answers from AI, apps, and social platforms instead of traditional search engines.

Trends drop when interest fades, competitors saturate results, or seasonality and changing user behavior reduce searches.

Because big updates and AI-driven ranking shifts are changing what users see, so old keywords lose volume while newer intent-based queries rise.
