Why are negative reviews not allowed on BHW Sales Threads?

Fairly new to BHW and I must say that BHW is always the go to forum whenever I need solid answers to any of my IM questions.
I am very curious about why negative reviews aren't allowed in BHW Sales Threads.

The reason I am asking this question is due to the warning I received from BHW for my negative comment on a Sales Thread. That offending post was removed immediately after that. I must say that I no problems with the decision made and my point is...

I am only seeking a rational reason on the way sales thread are modded here on BHW.
Personally, I feel that by stripping negative comments from a sales thread, it prevents future readers from looking at the whole picture before making a purchase.

There's actually a lot more questions on my mind, but I'll keep this thread plain and simple for now.
I will be posting my experience on an Authority Site service I have engaged here on BHW soon. (so far I am impressed with the level of communications maintained)

Looking forward to growing up as a baby IM-er on BHW :)

I've seen negative reviews before and even posted when things haven't turned out quite the way I expected.

Without knowing the content of your review I can only guess but if there was anything misleading or insulting in the content of your review that may be the reason.

Reviews should be factual and on point whether positive or negative, it's a sad fact that competitors can and do use and abuse reviews to discredit their competition, so the moderators do have quite a tough job deciding which are genuine and which are fake.
 
Honestly, to get a real opinion of a service on BHW you need to do something like what I do:

Go to the second or third last page on a sales thread, find people who posted their transaction ID. Send them a PM and ask how their experience was.

By doing this, I've saved so much time and discovered so many crap services that are offered by reputable people.

I'm pretty sure that my review was factual and on the point. Not some rant/grumble about how it didn't work out for me.
To back things up, I am open source developer and I know a thing or two about problem-solving in the software industry.

However, I have to admit that I do not have any good suggestion for now. Just looking around for opinions. Perhaps I am too new to BHW to understand the culture here :worm3:

This should not be happening if they are legit reviews. Good or bad they should stay. Why is this happening?
 
As I wrote you on IRC. Both positive and negative reviews are allowed here.

If you were a legitimate customer of the service and left a valid review, there is no reason it should have been removed. If this applies to you, then feel free to send me a PM and I'll look into it later.
 
I've left some negative reviews in the bst section, I have to admit that I wrote some unfriendly posts when the services wasn't as expected, but even though I'm pretty sure none of my posts got ever deleted.

Anyway, I think I get the idea, but allow me to try putting my story into perspective here for everyone who has been confused by me.

This is what happened:
1. I made a purchase after reading that there was this "Feature X" on a sales thread,
2. I submitted a support ticket using seller's support website asking why "Feature X" wasn't included.
3. Seller replied saying that I wasn't doing it right and that there could be many reasons and they are unable to support that.
4. Tried the product with pristine condition based on documentation. The result's still the same, broken.
5. Submitted another support ticket regarding my previous finds.
6. 10 days later, no answer.
7. Made a post on the sales thread talking about not getting a reply from the seller, along with the contents of my support request. (just one post)
8. Seller apologised over PM on BHW. Refunded me and offered free updates on his product.
9. Shortly after, I was slammed with a warning from BHW. Saying: Please don't use sales threads for ongoing technical support issues. If you are having problems with the product or software then you are allowed to leave one negative review.
10. Everyone moved on happily ever after :cool: However... "Feature X" is still missing from the product today.

Some random member probably reported you, a mod quickly glanced over the report reason and thought it was reasonable and gave you the warning.
If it really happened like you said I'm pretty sure they will remove the warning.
 
I've sold services here for many years. I can confidently tell you that reviews are NEVER deleted whether good or bad. The only time a mod will intervene is when a client begins to spam the thread with multiple bad reviews - 1 review that's it.

I assume there was a legit reason for the deletion or some mistake here.
 
I've actually seen some sellers speed up their services when a mildly negative review like,"It's been X days since I placed my order but am yet to receive.."
They speed up the service and then ask the person to either delete the post or edit it. I mean if the seller has been late in it,I think it should be shown on the replies of the sales thread.
Have also seen instances of sellers not wanting to deliver services until the negative post has been edited.
Some sellers are motivated to speed things up when the negative reviews start showing up on sales thread. That's what it seems like.

And then also comes the problem of people just reselling within the Marketplace ~

Use the iTrader system if you want to provide a negative BST review to someone.

Negative reviews aren't allowed on sales threads because they just turn into back and forth kiddie shouting matches.

But neg reviews ARE allowed in iTrader, so look there.
 
Because it could stop sales, and they dont want that. Its all faked
 
I just recently left a bad review for a service that offers "authority content". OP messaged me back with a "better article" in the hopes that I'd change my review. Didn't even read it out of principle and deleted the message. People should be exposed and I'll expose them.

That is straight up bullshit and you should educate yourself before slandering every seller on BHW.

As has been stated many times above you in this post negative reviews are only deleted if they are from non-customers and / or if the person is repeatedly leaving negative posts needlessly.

If a post has been removed in error it will be reinstated by a mod. Don't throw around false accusations about every seller on this forum.

Negative reviews absolutely are allowed and will not be removed if they are genuine.
 
If I was an owner of some forum where users would pay me $97 to be able to post their ads, I would never allow any one to bash them.
