What is wrong with this plan and why are more people not doing it?

1. Choose a fairly poplar Clickbank product.

2. Bid on the keyword "(product name) review"

3. Write a landing page that looks fairly "objective" in nature but shows the product in good light with your affiliate link to the product.

Anybody doing this? Any success or failure to report? Is this not the most obvious way of using Adwords? Im planning to do this....any advice?

Thanks a million!

Nothing really wrong with it, just make sure you really research your keyword and then REALLY watch your first campaign. Its very easy to spend a lot of money on adwords without getting conversions. Put in a little money to your adwords account and then be ready to 'pull the plug' if you don't see a return on the investment.

Why aren't more people doing this?
They are. Your idea is basically the 'secret method' in programs like the '16 year old millionaire' and many other similar ebooks.

alot of people including me are doing this. review sites, top 5 sites, all that kinds of stuff works. make sure you grab their email somehow also. if you are paying for the leads, you should make sure to gather their info.

I had a 150k a year business by doing just this. Then Google banned my account

They are banning a lot of affiliate marketers

If you do aff marketing on Adwords, better make it look like you are pushing your own product

Huh? "Banning" affiliate marketers?? Why? :S

My guess is that if your landing page doesn't give their users a "quality experience", then they'll just slap you (and make you pay $5 or so per click)..

But unless you are advertising child porn or something, why would they ban you? :S

I'd get some free $50-$100 adwords vouchers, use a huge keyword list, track each keyword separately for ROI, see which keywords perform the best, split test your ad copy, and then dump the non-performing keywords.

Man google seems too scary to invest in especially hearing these stories on how they ban people for no reason. i dont see how it affects them in a negative way when people make money. they make money regardless...

banning affiliates just because its not their own product? I highly doubt this to be true. Please provide more proof or else adwords may as well just up and go out of business.

Some gurus sell ebooks telling you exactly the method you describe here, but you must be very careful, the adsense campaign can drown your wallet in a day or less.

lol this is exactly what I was gonna come in here and say.

When I finally got a human to speak with me, they told me they banned my account because I was basically just providing a "bridge" page. In other words, I was just trying to get people to click on another page. Well, isn't that the point of affiliate marketing?

I had a full page of information, reviews from other customers, etc... and I still got banned

What some are doing is they're disguising the affiliate product to make it look as if it is their own. For instance, they are actually promoting Spyware Remover X, but they are calling it Spyware Remover Y and making it look like their own product

This strategy makes it very tough to offer customer reviews on a product, since the user isn't really getting information on the product they want, and I suspect they'd just go to another page until they get their desired info

Just go through the posts on here. Adwords advertisers are getting banned left and right

if u have problems with adwords, try other ppc.
i'd recommend bidvertiser.

anyone else has good low ppc?
