Pierce Brosnan, rugged? You're kidding, right. He was the most pretty-boy James Bond there was.
And BTW, I like him as an actor, just not as Bond. Also the movies he was in were terribly written, so it's not ONLY him. They lacked any substance, it was all cheap thrills and explosions, they made it into a cheap summer Blockbuster. The James Bond franchise definitely had it's fair share of cheap thrills and explosions, but it there was always something more to it, it was more sophisticated than a summer Blockbuster, there was witty dialogue and an interesting story. The Brosnan ones lacked on both of those fronts.
