The founder of OnlyFans is reportedly planning to buy TikTok in the U.S., entering a battle with Amazon. Tim Stokley’s startup, Zoop, has made an offer to ByteDance to acquire the social network. While the details remain undisclosed, it looks like the billionaires are gearing up for a fierce competition over TikTok.Looks like the recommendations are about to get even more intense!
What do you think about the fate of TikTok?

TikTok is going to be the go to platform for video content as the attention span of the world gets shorter and shorter.

Billionaires fighting billionaires... I'm sure there is a reality show somewhere that could be made from that.
 
Anyway, even with all the buzz about Amazon possibly buying TikTok, it's still the best social media out there right now.

When you're constantly reaping in that much data and having so much influence and reach around the world? Doesn't matter where it's based, US just doesn't like the fact a third-party country is collecting data from us. TikTok would never generally be an issue if it was based, made, and only ran through the US and no pipes to China. Really no difference anymore between platforms like Instagram and TikTok. One is just Chinese ran and the other isn't. Both collect and do the same shady shit

TikTok is too powerful. Went from a dancing app to almost becoming the new all in one app for everything like shopping (tiktok shop), tiktok search for products/services in locations and even full on 60+ minute videos

They’d be dumb not to invest in it

Well, companies from the US like Microsoft, Google, Meta, Apple etc are collecting data from all people around the world and no one died yet.

It's 2025 and I still don't use TikTok, I haven't suffered from any of its shortcomings. Why are they competing for this?
