The results sure are interesting, I had never imagined something like this would be possible on such a keyword. Have you taken a closer look at the backlink profile? I don't have any subscriptions with any backlink crawlers like ahref or majestic seo, but with my limited view I've just found blog comments, image comments, and guestbooks. The site is a pr 5 with good age, da, and pa, but it just seems too easy if it's just about spamming as many links as possible.
 
Pretty sure Matt Cutts will fix this very soon since the URL is being shown in the public, lol.

Interesting case study though.
 
65 Trust Flow? PA 72?? That's insane. With that much trust you can rank almost anything.

Domain was registered in 1996, they just throw 600k spam backlinks and sure it will get ranked, with that domain age, plus if it was indexed by google for a long time, you can rank for anything. I think this was one of the hackers projects, they probably hacked into their site and created 301 redirection to their viagra stuff for people who come from Google with relative keywords, that's currently not working, probably the owners have noticed it and worked on their security.

So you're saying if I go to godaddy auctions and buy a 18 year old domain which is still indexed in Google, I can rank for any keyword by throwing tons of shitty backlinks at it? Even if it's just temporary, I'm going to need a bigger wallet then.
 
Wow.. these days the neg SEO is not doing any damage..it is actually helping the sites.

That's right, i proved that to myself multiple times, even with just 1 year old site, although never for such a competitive kw as Viagra is, but i don't see why i couldn't rank it as well if i would have at last 5-6 years old site which is already indexed on Google for that much long time.

If you put their web site on ahrefs.com you will see the backlinks by yourself, they are crap, crappier couldn't be lol, but domain is registered in 1996, so yeah, that's the secret. Go on a google.co.uk and type in "payday loans online" you will find these bastards on #1 spot www.themediaconsortium.org, same situation, the only difference is that in this case domain is much younger, it has been created in 2006.

Basically, go on flippa, find few years old site which is being sold for a cheap price, don't look at the niche, that's not your point of interest, purchase it, create a country based http redirection or referrer based redirection, depends what are you going to promote ( just make sure that google bot will still see the original site ) throw as much as ******** backlinks possible to your domain, make sure that main keyword is used in 30% of times, 50% of times add 10-15 relative keywords, and the rest should be half domain half random words and you will see the rankings getting up very soon.
Google will not suspend your web site so quickly either, updates does not work same on new and old sites, unless somebody reports you directly to Google which is possible if you will go for a high competitive niche, such as viagra od payday loans.

i saw this happen about 3 weeks ago, but they had a redirect to a lp for a different niche..

that is amazing, but is that the kind of stuff that google is going to catch and blacklist. i sometimes worry about backlink campaigns coming back to bite me later on

FWIW - G said they had payday loans and viagra under control a very long time ago... but this thread alone contains several extreme examples to the contrary. Refer to my above post.

Wow, I had not imagined to get such a detailed answer back at all. Thanks a lot, it's definitely something I'll look further into. However I don't quite understand why you'd redirect the domain opposed to putting up relevant and converting content and doing proper on page seo, to me it seems like it'd only make it rank better.
