Some of them did, yes (Alexandria, for example). But I do see your point.But did those people name the city after themselves? (rhetorical question obvs)
What makes it douchy is him naming it after himself.. like I've got no problem with the Washington Memorial for example![]()
I personally wouldn't do it if I ever decide to create a city.
For example, if I ever purchased a couple thousand acres in Iran, I'd probably name the city something like, "Shefartedand" or something.
I'd have fun with it.
