Who invests in stocks?

A lot of time i feel urge of investing in the stock, but i feel scare and does not invest.

I invested around 2500$ in Delta Airlines, bought it at 23.60$ right now it's 22.60$... hopefully it will go up to 28$ in June and I'll sell it as I need to invest in some other stuff

From where did you buy them?

Apologies for the most retard question in the world, but I am curious.

I am a lazy investor. ETFs/Index funds is probably the most simplified and passive form of investing for me. I don't wanna bother about rebalancing, taxation and all that stuff every year.

I don't invest in stocks. But generally its a gamble, just remember that. If you want to invest for the long term then invest in something sensible - a few of the top companies in various sectors to spread your risk - and keep your money there for a few years minimum.

I agree when you are referring to Day-Trading as its possibly one of the biggest gambles you can do with your money. But when you are investing into well established companies it's not a "gamble" in particular. Of course you cannot predict the outcome of any stock which kind of makes it a gamble but there are certain measures you can take in order to minimize losses while investing in companies with a long-term strategy. Same can also be for real estate and anything else in that matter. You could always buy a home and suddenly something can happen that makes the house lose in value fast (for example Coronavirus, many hotel owners were/are fucked at this time, losing millions of dollars every month).

Also, if you wanna go for a stock: Berkshire Hathaway might be a good option.

The berkshire stock goes for about 294K I think, I don't think he wants to invest that much.

Does anyone here invest in stocks? How are the results? Are you happy about the decision?
I invest in stocks too. It's going well, but make sure to keep track and to try beating the market every month, or you'll be better off just putting the money in a low-fee mutual fund.

Trading stocks is fun though, if you're going to do it through your bank they probably have analysts who can send you daily recommendations. It will remove half of the guess work, and it might be helpful.
When you have a good strategy with a high success rate, you can even switch to options if you're not afraid of heights.

Most people trading stocks will lose so bare that in mind. I include so called gurus in that.

Honestly the best thing you can so is I invest in mutual funds. Your money will be spread out amongst a large number of stocks. This is the safest way trust me.

Stocks... if you want to do it the right way I would go and speak to a broker or financial adviser.

If you just want to start investing in "stocks' there are plenty of ISAs or equivalent out there where you can set your risk to "high" if you want to gamble.

That said if you have trouble saving and just spend the money assume as you want to actually see the thing in front of you. Then why not buy physical assets i.e gold / silver. I'll share where I buy from if you wish - no affiliate I just buy from them as I don't need to pay the VAT on silver saving me 20%!

I buy a % of my income every month and have done for the last 20 or so years now... When the price goes down you buy more that month, when the price is high I cash a little out to either re-invest in the business or ill even put that money to one side and then buy on the dip and get 2-3x back.

Just don't go buying in the stupid 1-5kg weights looks cool but for investing it's a waste of time unless you have a ton of money to mess around with i.e if you sell 5kg of gold today and that's all you had and the price goes up 2x tomorrow you missed out where as you would be better selling off a little bit each day and potentially gain each day...

Stocks can get really complex and deep. If you like following up with all the news and trying to understand real businesses and companies then it is great. But should be seen as long term investments. Just too much going on in the markets for me to focus on one thing. From the different industries to the different calls. Options/Binary, Futures, etc... guess you should keep it simple.

But putting all your retirement and savings like a 401k into the market, is a solid no from me. You will always be at the mercy of the current market. Sad that some people can't retire or pull out money at the moment because the value is so diminished. Always diversify everything, Digital assets, physical assets, fiat and non fiat. If one loses value surely another will gain value.

It is good decision to invest on stocks, only when you are ready to do your research..

History of the company where you are investing plays a major role. You must never panic with shortterm fluctuations in the market. Do not put all your money on the shares of one particular company

Stock investment is a long term game, so, if you are willing to join it make sure you hold on to it patiently.

Might be a highly unpopular opinion but I don't think people who make a living running online businesses like most of us in stocks.

People with a day job have almost no control over what they do, so they invest money in stocks.

But if any kind of IM method has ever worked for you, I'd suggest invest in doing that again and at a larger scale. That'll have way higher returns than stocks.

If you want to have money saved, invest it in safer places like mutual funds or bank deposits.

Leave the stocks to highly intelligent mathematicians, insider traders and 9-5 people.

I think that actually the market is over-valued. My opinion is that still the market will go down much more

i invested to gold few months ago but now its not good time because its in the highest price.
when will be dropped i think will be ok

Gold generally scales up with the inflation (as per my observation as a noob), so it is not a bad option if somebody is afraid of banks. You buy physical gold today, and be assured; that it will still be good after 100 years.

However, I don't think it's a good option for capital gain. You will need a looot of capital to even earn a decent amount of gain.

I do have a portfolio for petty cash. Stick with markets or industries that interest you with enough diversification to mitigate everyday risk and/or invest in etfs and mutual funds imo - unless you reckon yourself an economic genius or have lots of friends on the inside.
If you're talking 6 figures sums or more go for high grade bonds if you really just want to stick with financial markets alone.

Agreed on that! I only got into silver* due to the fact it gets used a lot in electronics and our demand on electronics is not going to stop any time soon (if at all) and silver isn't something you can "make" and it's used a lot in Solar Panels and with the push that direct it makes sense.

Not to mention it's cheap and I personally think as a metal it's undervalued.

I started buying at £3 an oz and most I've paid is £11-13ish an oz I don't go any higher than that.

Obviously the price peaks just like god with inflation and other factors as it's a traditional safe haven. I missed my last cash out in 2008/9 I think it was but I didn't have enough I now consider myself to be in a place where my target is £24+ an oz and I'm happy.

* the other reason is it took me along time to become a "grown up" with money any savings I would spend so I started to buy silver coins I found I could save my money and not cash out as easily or if I wanted to make a late night splurge I couldn't. It helped me loads - now saving etc isn't really an issue - IF anything it's caused another issue as I won't spend any money on myself! ha :)

Ive been investing since 2011 and started having good success at around 2014.

Yes, its a good decision. let me know if you have any questions or PM me with any specifics.

I'm not an expert, but I've made some mistakes that hopefully i can help somebody else to avoid :).

I used to day trade and made a good amount of profit. Buying or selling based on the news of the stock. Idk why i stopped lol
