Who else hates Christmas?

Personally I could never stand it. Ive noticed that for the most part the only people that really care about christmas after a certain age are the family people or the people that have kids. Personally I cant stand it because its a completely commercial holiday, a time of the year for big companies to get richer.

I feel guilty receiving presents and hate it when I'm broke on xmas and can't afford getting the loved ones what they want. Other than that what is to hate? It's xmas!

I just like the family reunion, each year. Forgot the religion lol

Happy birthday Jesus :D

Christmas is a business just like everything else. Remember that. Also, Christmas is NOT what you think it is. I suggest you all to do some homework on the real origins of Christianity and the Catholic Church. So, with that being said, why should a "religious holiday" ever have massive amounts of money being spent? That does not make sense, it is simply another scheme in the messed up world that we live in.

I love Christmas.
I just get tired of all the religious people who don't know the REAL origins of the holiday.

LOL

I hate it too...just because i lose money on this day !!

I will never hate it :)
Life is too short :)

I don't wanna die without enjoying being with family :D

The problem is not christmas, the problem is that it's been hijacked and turned into something that it was never meant to be in the first place. Spending good times with those you like is great. Running up massive debt to *prove* you like someone is ridiculous.

For me the best christmas would be a long party loaded with good food and drink; not shiny goods from a store. I've got enough worthless junk in my house now.

And for those who hate it, try celebrating it on your own terms and in your own way. Order some takeout; watch some favorite movies; listen to some music; hang out with like minded people! :D

I like the way I can dress up as Santa and get close to kids :D

It's a joyous time of the year as everyones spirits are quite high, time off work, drink, food and more drink... games and just the whole getting together.

I have kids, 3 in fact and for me to take them and join up with ALL my family is the best feeling. Remember, not everyone can go see family as they may be abroad so these occasions are special.

Each to their own though ;)

Lucky for me, I never celebrated it. I don't have any hate towards it, but have always felt completely disconnected from it. I guess since I came up in a family that didn't celebrate it, you don't grow emotional associations of receiving pleasure from it (ie getting presents and lots of food or whatever).

If I was raised in a family that did, and then grew up to have to act out the same thing, but my now mature rational mind was now putting the kung-fu grip on my emotional child, then yeah, I think I might hold some resentment. Perhaps even hate. Maybe being lied to as a child about some fantasy Santa Clause that my parents would tell me to believe in only to find out it's all BS would lead to even further resentment.

When Christmas comes around, I just watch the show. It always amazes me to see people go through those motions. It boosts the economy in a big way that's for sure. If people could give and receive (SENSIBLY) year round though, we wouldn't have things like black friday.

For the Christians, enjoy your Holy Day. It is YOUR Holy Day (even though Christ was in fact born sometime in the summer (most likely in June) and the holiday was moved to sync with solstice in order to avoid being killed by romans way back in the day).

For everyone else who is bowing to the god of materialism.. Santa Clause.. whose image btw was created by the good folks at Coke Cola back in 1931... make your god happy and go buy more stuff. Just do it online so I can get my fair share too. ;)

Xmas, Easter, Valentines day, etc is just a way for fat cats to make money!

I agree that Christmas is nothing more than a BS holiday and I hate it as much, but on the other hand it is a way of sharing time and meals amongst family and friends and brings cheer to some peoples lives, and for that I say Christmas has it's good side, but as far as everyone feeling that they have to buy gifts for everyone and try to make it a promotional sales day and feed on the fact of religion to sucker people into buying things is in my opinion complete and uter FAQing-BS

My whole family gets together only at Christmas and Easter and I love it

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Christmas is an amazing holiday regardless of your religion. There is no holiday that I have experienced which brings so much joy and stress-free respite for people as Christmas. It's also a great time for increased sales for everyone :)
