I have lived my whole life listening to this BS of Christmas. I don't celebrate it anymore, thus my late night BHW posting. I just have to say I really hate this holiday. I wondered if I am the only person who thinks so...what do you say blackhaters?

I don't see it as anything special in my life. I go visit my family, because they would be sad if I didn't. It just doesn't mean anything to me.

So glad I'm not the only one. I sent my girlfriend off to be with her family and I'm home with the dogs. So much better. I told everyone I wasn't going to do presents or anything this year. It just annoys me. I'm glad to have the day off work, tho!

It's less stressful this year now I am no longer with my wife. She used to put loads of money pressure on me every xmas but now I can relax and spend what I want on my family. I am off to visit my family now and my nightmare is that she turns up and spoils my day.

I dont love christmas but I dont hate either, life is too short to hate

YEAH all those phony smiles and phony merry christmas wishes...

I don't like it , I don't hate it, it's just OK :)
It's always good to have Christmas holidays though.

Real meaning of christmas to me get emotionally black mailed to go and see family. Have a battle with the ex wife just to see a son she stops me from seeing. So rollox to it.
I am off on Holiday next year for a week or two I dont care what it costs I am out of here for two weeks.

it's great if/when you're a kid.

what i hate are the jerks who dole out their opinions if you don't feel the same fake joy that they pretend to feel.

The ONLY part of Christmas that I liked as a child (and I sometimes miss as an ex-Catholic) is Midnight mass. It was more about the pretty decorations, nice comfy church, the priest blabbing on and on about something in a nice soothing voice, and me snoozing before the holiday rush (being one of the oldest girls in the family met I had to wake up bright and early...4 AM....to help with the holiday cooking, weeks before, I was always the one to make sure we had everything on the food shopping list since the stores are closed on Christmas).

As a child I HATED opening presents on Christmas day (I guess my family understood that and stopped giving me stupid toys and jewelry I didn't wear and started giving me books:D).

As a grown up, it always seemed like a competition of which adult/couple can get the children the best, most expensive, latest gadget. Most of the toys would end up broken, toss aside after a few days of playing, lost, traded, etc. So what's the point?

I am 10000% glad I stayed this year in Turkey. Less pressure to buy stuff or give out money. I called my family, wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I probably go and see them for Mardi Gras.

People are fake. They don't even realize that they are fake anymore. That's what I don't like about Christmas and other holidays like this. It's not the Christmas itself but the people. If i'd be stuck in an elevator with an interesting, open and fun person for 15 hours it would be more fun than being near an uninteresting person for one hour on a beautiful beach.

The way I see it, leaving the consumerist side of the Christmas aside, you have to make presents to people you have no idea what they like and you receive shitty presents from people who have no idea what you like. But you have to smile and say thank you and behave like you like it so they don't feel bad. I don't like to be fake like that. Then, you see them trying to impose their superstitions and beliefs onto you. I live in a country where we have superstitions for everything. Can you imagine my mother actually googled "Christmas superstitions"?! WTF! Then she comes to me "you have to eat some apple because you're SUPPOSED to if you want to have a good year. If you dont eat apple you won't have a good year." WTF is that negative, corrosive, idiotic subliminal suggestion?!

So I guess I don't hate Christmas. I just don't like the people I'm with during Christmas. They're my family and I love them, but I don't like them because the mess up my karma.

I love christmas, i just hate the fact that people only act nice and want to give around this time. You should give and act the same day regardless of the holiday.

I hate thanksgiving and halloween, but love christmas for my lord.

Believe in lord jesus christ, you and your family will be saved.BHW,money nd etc wont last forever, but what you reap for your soul lasts for eternity, even after your death.
Sad thing about Christmas is that it has become more of a celebration of a Godless culture rather than religious devotion.
