Who else got hit on a non-EMD?

Looking at my clients - they are all good and they have a TON of EMD's. Our blog networks are all good too, it looks like one of the blogs might have been hit but I will need a week or two to verify.

Personally, only one site I have got hit, it was an EMD, all the others I have are fine, EMD or not. Most actually went up in ranking today. My Adsense revenue was horrible but rankings went up.

Well I had some EMDs that were still ranking that got hit, but it appears most of my adult EMDs are fine. Go figure.
The non-EMD that was hit, though, came as a shock (my main revenue source) - maybe it was just a coincidence but it's one hell of a coincidence.
Glad you and your clients are OK.

same here on adsense. i went from around .30 CPC to .10.

I confirm. Solid, non-EMD website, 5 years old. Not MFA, not affiliate, online store made for people. Gone nowhere today

So the other thread tells me EMDs trigger penalties and you tell me non-EMDs do the same? What should I use, sfgdffhoakjo.com?

What the fuck is wrong with you people? Domains themselves can't get you penalized unless it's a howtomakemoneyonlineforfreeasateenager.com

I strongly believe you screwed up with the backlinking or G rolled out a new update/index refinement.

My EMD got hit as well.

May I ask, what you guys gonna do after this update? will you wait a week or two before you do anything for your site (like changes or something to overcome this EMD penalty) or, you will do drastic change ASAP. ?

A site I track that went to the top for many keywords after Penguin tanked last night. Not an EMD.

I think that EMD websites are de-ranked only if they have low quality content with a lot of grammar errors, I made a small investigation to my clients EMD websites and it seams that all websites with low quality content are de-ranked , however a 20% decrease in ranking max.

It looks like a mess again. Sometimes i think that these stupid updates are random. Just wait ....

I got hit on one website, but another EMD is still strong. Maybe it's too early to tell, and it will get slapped, but this way it looks okay so far.

I started both sites at the same time, first one is a couple pages only, the other 90 or so - seems like the page count is a big factor now. It was bringing value before as well, but now seems to be the judgement call along with previous slaps (my conclusion from other sites)

Confirmed. Non-EMD hit - dropped 190 spots. Was paying my salary. 100 real guest post links to it done over 2 years, 200 pages of unique articles with infographics etc.

Thanks Google.

Seems like another update rolled out just yesterday/today. Don't think it has to do with being EMD or not, as you will see both versions dropping obviously.

Maybe too much focus on 'EMD dropping' just due to the nature of the domain being an EMD and you're expecting some EMD bonus ? Not ment to be offensive, just an idea.

It wasn't that we were expecting EMD *bonuses* - it's that Matt Cutts said the new update was *targetting* them, and it apparently did. The anomaly is that apparently a lot of non-EMD sites, some even authority sites, got hit as well.
Thanks for everyone else who confirmed --- hope we all come back soon.
