Whitney Houston Dead at 48 - RIP

I pray to the members that have to make offensive comments that you or anyone close to you never dies of substance abuse. Maybe, if you had the perspective that every life is precious and people are here just expressing their feelings of lost as she reminds all of us with her voice, an angelic one that can never be replaced. Remember, role models are angels with their wings cut off(2pac) meaning that we all have faults but its not how we die that defines us it is how we are remembered by the ones that loved us. If you want to get all of bhw riled up, well you did it, what did you get out of it i have no idea and honestly i pray for you. RIP Whitney!!!

It's sad, I'm not denying that. I'm not even saying I'm happy that she died, I just said the entertainment industry had to put up with quite a lot of crap from her and the fans paid for her concerts to hear her perform well, and she performed terribly.

I really wish people would stop for second and think about it before they give their knee-jerk reactions of how terrible her death is. Please don't think for a minute that I don't miss the time when Whitney Houston was great. But that was a long time ago. The real tragedy here is not her death today but her career becoming a train wreck and the poor example she set for her fans and her kid.

It's really weird to me that people can't see the irony in mourning the loss of a celebrity drug addict while ignoring the thousands of non-celebrity drug addicts who die every day and are people who truly need the help. Whitney Houston at least had millions of dollars and could afford going to rehab and hiring help to take care of her kid while she was away. But she chose not to. A drug addict on the streets of Brooklyn, on the other hand, is faced with a far worse situation. Now, Whitney Houston's poor kid is left with the aftermath. Her kid is who I really feel bad for.

But what has one to do with the other? It's an argument a lot of people use, but I never get it. Just because someone said it's sad that Whitney died, does not mean he does not care about all the other victims of drugs.

And yeah she wasn't able to sing anymore than she used to be. But whatever. She's dead now and I think it's appropriate to show some decency and don't talk bad about her. Imagine she would have been your mom/aunt/friend, would you like to see people talking bad about her now? I don't think so.

Very sad ending to a marvelous career. Her voice was truly powerful. She would shit on all these so-called-stars now (if she still had that voice). Rest in peace big mama, your songs will be played throughout the world tonight

RIP

She had an amazing voice, alot of nice singers have this issue drugs, its a shame they ended like this

She'll be remembered by millions. No matter what you say about her doing drugs and stuff, fact is she had a time when she truly shined. I hope for all to have that in your life even if it doesn't last until the day you die.

My mom, aunt and friends do not do drugs and set terrible examples for their fans and children, and they don't make people spend hundreds on dollars on their concerts only to perform very poorly.

Also, if they did act like bad people and then they died, yes I'd be sad because they were my mom, aunt or friend, sure. But Whitney Houston is not your mom, aunt or friend. She's a pop icon with a terrible track record.

EDIT: anyway, I'm not trying to laugh about this, it's sad. I just think it's sad for different reasons than the rest of y'all apparently. But I'm gonna stop talking about it cuz apparently people are offended and that wasn't my intention.

Sad news isn't it, I grew up in the time of Whitney Houston and MJ, they both top hit in music industrial.

@Tensegrity:

Why are you so bent on smearing this thread?

People on this thread are expressing their sadness about a great star
who passed away too soon, and you come along and have to dig up
the negative stuff. We all know she had drug problems as many of
the great stars of the past did. Can't you just remember the good
things she did and the joy that she brought to millions of people
with her incredible talent? . . . Or do you simply enjoy the negative
stuff. Comon man . . . have a little respect, or at the very least,
just walk away from this thread. You are stinking up the place!

Well i put an edit in my last post cuz I am planning on walking away, but I do want to respond to you since you're a Mod and I don't want you thinking I'm running around the forum trying to troll, cuz that isn't my intention at all.

I feel that everyone has a social obligation to voice their opinions, especially when they see something that they find morally objectionable. And, believe it or not, I find the whole idea of putting Whitney Houston on a pedestal morally objectionable and I think i've been pretty clear as to why I think so. I've also been clear about recognizing the sadness and loss of it, and I don't think it's fair of other people to accuse me of indecency when all I'm doing is voicing an opinion, especially one regarding the destructive nature of our society by putting morally objectionable celebrities on pedestals.

So that is where I'm coming from. Sorry I put a bad taste in yours or anyone else's mouths, that wasn't my intention.

So sad to hear that we have lost another very talented person at such a young age! Too bad so many celebrities go down the drug induced road and destroy themselves in the process, when they have so much to live for.

RIP Whitney!

Oh well people die... Thats how things work.

The sad thing in my opinion is her drug abuse. I really hate seeing people in that condition with nothing else than getting boozed or drugged up since there is nothing else in their lives anymore were they rich or poor.

don't blame her about drug abuse ETC.. people died you,me, all of us are going to died that's life..

RIP Whitney..

micheal jackson, whitney houston.....2 pop icons that were big in my generation....

the industry chewed them up and spat them out.

Why people are offensive to her? She got a magnificient career and people all around the world adore her for different reason. If you look at her career you will understand how amazing it was. Apart of saying a lot, we can say. SHE WILL BE MISSED..

Here is some of the Tribute shown for this Great Great Lady....

Lunching in Bev Hills, watching paramedics screech around the corner w sirens blaring, not knowing they were going to Whitney Houston. Sad.?
