In the past six months I've recently become involved with a few different start-up business projects. Basically the different teams, for the different projects, and I have come to the point of needing funding for further development. We have been trying the typical venture capital approach, which seems daunting, different bootstrapping approaches, which look potentially promising, and currently find ourselves at the point of a engaging in a Kickstarter campaign.

I have been reading through the different tips that are suggested during the creation of a new campaign, and a lot of what they are saying sound like basic SEO concepts.

I was wondering if anybody had any White Hat SEO tips/techniques/advice on amplifying the creation and coordination of running a Kickstarter campaign?

Thanks.

Hi BruderChrist,

Yes, a lot of them talk on SEO concepts, but the real promotion to KickStarter campaign comes with conceptual promotion. Forget links and seo for a while.

Why would someone fund your campaign? Because they like your concept and would love to be part of it.

But how do you attract someone who looks out for quality? Def. not by creating links! Share your concept with the world.

You got to focus on creating explainer videos (or at least PPT videos), slides (pitchdecks), infographics (showing stats of why your product is on demand) and many such content types and you got to take it to where people are. Not everyone reads articles right? People watch videos to know the world, view image quotes in social media to find whats going around, etc.

So get those created content to all different platforms.

Its a daunting task then raising funds from Venture Capital (I have done that couple of times and helped others raise being a investor myself). The SEO method I am speaking about - Content Marketing - is much more comprehensive, but easy to be done if you are really passionate about what you do. If you do a great job, you have chances for small time investors to get in touch with you directly.

All the best with your venture my friend.

Basically, content marketing is the art of communicating with your customers and prospects without selling. It is non-interruption marketing. Instead of pitching your products or services, you are delivering information that makes your buyer more intelligent. The essence of this content strategy is the belief that if we, as businesses, deliver consistent, ongoing valuable information to buyers, they ultimately reward us with their business and loyalty.

And they do. Content marketing is being used by some of the greatest marketing organizations in the world, including P&G, Microsoft, Cisco Systems, and John Deere. It's also developed and executed by small businesses and one-person shops around the globe. Why? Because it works.

Thanks for putting things in perspective regarding Kickstarter advertising and promotion :D

Actually it's also important to make your website mobile ready with frameworks like Bootstrap. Google had an update about this some weeks ago.
