Good afternoon white hatters! Sometimes noobies have questions that just aren't answered on other threads. So here goes... Lets just assume for a second that black hat methods are now dead. Pretend with me won't you. Now let's assume that the only way to get backlinks are to: 1. Get the community involved somehow and make your page popular enough to be linked to the natural way. 2. Do all of the backlinking by hand, one by one. As #1 is pretty much impossible for most most sites the #2 method seems to be the only one viable. My question is this: if one does all the backlinking manually, doesn't google see and record the ip address of the computers leaving the link all around? I've heard that's the case case with things like reviews so google knows if they're actually local reviews. My natural thought is that idea's ridiculous, but I think google is smarter than we give them credit for. Any thoughts?
