White Hat PBN : Which method would be better?

According to Matt Cutts and google you are allowed to link together different websites together as long as its not an insane amount. So PBN's depending on how they are used can actually be white hat seo.

I'll be replicating how Ziff Davis and Purch operates their network(as well as other companies that I don't know off hand), but the question would be what would seem more organic in the eyes of Google?
1. Launch all 10 branded sites together at once under a LLC(with its own separate site)
2. Launch the LLC site + 1 branded website and then add new websites over time
3. Launch the LLC site + 1 connected branded website and 9 unconnected branded websites and over time add them to the network by having the LLC buy them and issue a press release every time a new website is bought and added to the network.

I was thinking #2 would probably be more cost effective than #3 since I would be able to focus on seo and social media for 1 site and then be able to use some of the profits to reinvest it to speed up the social media and seo campaigns for each site afterwards.
 
I don't think Matt Cutts ever said PBNs were ok, or that you can consider them white hat. With that said, as long as the sites are legitimate (updated regularly with well thought out content, social accounts and everything else that goes into a normal business site) then yes its fine to sparingly link between properties. If you really want to keep your nose clean, I'd shoot for branded text or image links. I'd opt for method 2 or 3 regarding rollout.

He was saying that linking sites together is okay as long as they aren't a ton of links together. A PBN is really a Media Network that uses a blog format, Google is perfectly okay with Media Networks they just don't like thin content.

Divide and conquer. They spread lies, misinformation and divide people into hat colours to keep arguing whose epenis in seo contests are better.

According to their disgusting guidelines, any links that are aimed at manipulating are against their guidelines. Fuck them. The moment you think about links to rank better, you're outside their guidelines.

Large sites with their networks and paid links get away with, because they are branded, large and people look for them. That's what we need to aim for first.

1. Give people what they want and search for
2. Brand yourself, don't be the localplumberinnoranktown.webcam, who won't be missed by anyone
3. Don't let google tell you what you can and cannot do. They scrape your content, put ads above your SERP appearances and they want to tell you what's cool and what's not.
4. Leak traffic from the internet and fuck google

2 or 3 - but don't stake your hopes on "Matt Cutts says it will be OK."
If they think you're doing what you really are doing, and they find it, "Matt Cutts said" will get you about as far as "BigDog said."
Do it smartly, though, and 2 or 3 should be fine.
 
I'd go for method number 2 but won't inter-connect the sites by links.
 
Gawker Media links together, Business Insider links together, Forbes links together, Meredith corp links together. Google can easily see the footprints but they aren't deindexing even though they are basically a PBN.
 
Don't go by what matt cutts advises you with regards to SEO. With that said however, you should focus upon minimizing footprints with regards to setting up and maintaining your PBNs. The idea is to make them appear like they arent all owned by yourself.
 
I just don't get it. Why linking websites each other? The way I see it, the whole purpose of PBN's is Google seeing them as totally different, yet each of them powerful authority entities, is it not?

Even if I am missing something here, I (personally) don't think that this kind of interlinking will give your sites any special boosts. Even if it does, using this "PBN" for creating links will create a form of linking wheel, which is totally against my advise!
 
Because they help add authority to each website in the network By linking together.
 
In all honesty, this is not a "Whitehat PBN". There is nothing called whitehat PBN. LOL. I am still laughing reading this thread title.

Your strategy matches a "network of sites" owned by the same person/organization and interconnected together. Yes, it is whitehat as of today and many of the top websites do it and Cutts has also said it is OK as you mentioned (unless you overdo it). As for the strategy, #3 is the safest and #2 would also work very well. #1 might work but Google might think that you are just churning out sites. So, #2 is better IMO. You can also run a PR or two once in a while for one or two of the added sites.

One important thing though. Maintain all the sites so that they all are money sites. Google does not have problem with multiple money sites AFAIK (differ the topic a bit so that they are not mere replicas of one another thereby not providing any value). Interlink them together and if possible, leave out the main site from the interlinking process or include just 1-2 links but make all 10 link back to the money site. This strategy should work out well. Do not vary the anchor text too much but vary it a bit if possible to not ring up the Google algo (automated one) alarm bells. And clearly mention that they are your sites when linking back. A good way would be to mention that they all are under your LLC.
 
Would a series limited liability company be of any use in this? Basically a master cell can bloom a subcell. In fact in theory it can bloom infinite numbers of cells. If I had a series llc, I could bloom a cell for everyone in the phone-book separately and it is considered a separate legit entity.

A drawback is the California tax board sees every entity as being occultly related and wants $800 a piece each from them.

I don't know if this could be applicable at all to you or not. I am asking and thinking out-loud.

Just one LLC could do, personally I'd go with a new mexico one since its $92 to start using a service and then eventually sell websites to either a nevada LLC to save tax money or to an offshore holding company.
