Are you from an eu country/serving an eu country?
My company actually uses private data centers as well. We do it because of customer data security. I wonder why you take the extra pain managing your own server hardware?

I am from EU. Data center also in EU.
My clients have special needs, and local data centers do not provide such services.
For example, protection against DDoS attacks. Typical data centers in my country operate as follows: if an attack occurs on a local area network, the local area network is shut down; if the attack is from abroad - disables the foreign network. "BGP blackhole."
I solved this problem simply by making a GRE tunnel with my partners and always filtering the VIP client traffic through Hong Kong, Moscow or UK. So protection till 250 Gbps is always on! (tested and confirmed with 180Gbps+ attack).
I agree with you sometimes managing DC is headache. But I love my clients and I know that they need special attention

Selfconfigured cloud. I pretty much outperform 99.9% of the competitors in my country.
The best part which makes me chuckle every time, total costs: (so hosting and all plugins I use for optimizing)
$5 a month hahaha
Could you elaborate some more on this setup? Might be interesting for people to know about .. =)

Na, it´s ok, I saw that others had asked and you seem to not want to do a short description about your "Selfconfigured cloud" in that thread .. But thanks anyway for your time .. I´m not new at this, just wanted to see what others were doing for fun .. Since I am a bit "autistic" about optimizations to .. =)

So, your only have a Vultr cloud VPS then? I read it as you had setup a "Selfconfigured cloud" within Vultr, with for example 1 vps for database + 1 vps for webserver and 1 vps for the caching when you wrote "Selfconfigured cloud", my fault then .. Sorry .. =)
