I've been documenting many of my projects but i think it would be better to get used to start working with project managing tools.

Can anyone recommend me one free software, i don't need it to be super rich on features but aslong it does the job.

I've often seen online services like these or programs with some cloud which makes me question safety/privacy in general.

As i want this tool for a better organized setup for me alone, i am fine with it being working fully offline.

Anyone has recommendations? Atleast with some decent UI many look like being over 20 years outdated lol.

Thanks in advance.

Try monday.com - I use it for multiple businesses, it works great for teams too.

People say Asana is better but I don't have personal experience with it yet - I think for personal projects Monday would do.

we used/try streak and then copper - copper seems to be decent both are crm's that connect into gmail and gsuites. they all suck in some way - maybe somebody from bhw can build one for us

I've tried Trello, Monday.com, and Notion. Of all of them, I love notion the most. It offers the most flexibility, customizability, and ability to integrate it into your other notes, files, etc. Trello and Monday.com are okay, and I might use them if I had enough tasks to merit a single platform, but I wanted to be able to group all of my tasks and project management software with my notes, documents, etc.

Thank you all guys for sharing, unfortunatly i couldn't find the right thing for me here. I've been looking all night and managed to find something usefull for me.

Name: Joplin
- Saved on cloud or locally <-- preffered
- Organize notes and such in categories and possibly with tags.
- Checklist.
- Open source
- Nice UI/UX.
- So far i feel no pressure on my PC with it being turned on.
- Supports emojis/pics/some rich text.
- Easy to use and very simple.
- No account.
- Encrypted.
- FREE

I've tried a few others but they were either confusing/or even worse to work with as your cluttered with all the forms and options. While you didn't need the few options at the situation, the program/web based platform forces u to fill in certain options which gives u more work then u intend to, e.g. time/cost details.

I can understand if it's not for you if you need the complete thing or want to work on it with other people in the team, and it might be on the longer run i might miss some features like graphs?(or i haven't find out how to do so), but it's like for 90% for what i need.

I hope someone has any use to it ;)

Thank you all once again!

I like Trello and JIRA/Atlassian a lot. Also heard good stuff about Monday.com

I'm using Teamwork (unfortunately it isn't free), but I also heard good things about monday.com, one of my mates used it.

Monday.com is very customizable and nice to use. I've set it up so that even recruitment requests and sales requests come in and into the right planning view to act upon fast. Only concern I have is that it's a bit dumbed down at times. Like if you want to automate something you can only pick really simple templates and not build anything much more then that. Asana's pretty great too but is completely lacking in the field of automation. I used to run on that, but it's far behind in customization and setting up own work flows. I used to export it to CSV weekly so that I could then filter stuff in Google Sheets to get just the overview I wanted on a project.

If you're just looking for something simple to get you going Asana's feel and UI is a lot better then Monday.

Just out of curiousity, what are you automating and for what?
I don't need details but just examples. I mean automating stuff is definitly interesting, less wasted repetitive/manual work. More productive hours :)

I don't think joplin has it, then again it's open source so maybe i could play a bit with myself...

Hmmmmm...

Take a look at Todoist.com; it's great for a one man team. Basically, it is a amped up to do list with the power of project management software.

For my last acquired venture, we used Monday. Before that I used Trello. Lately, I use pad and paper and just have weekly calls with investors to chat about progress and direction because even if I used one, they prob wouldn't have time to look and I'd only end up talking to myself in there.

This is the TRUTH!

I tried these PM applications at one time or another, ClickUp, Zoho CRM, Basecamp, Wrike, Freedcamp and Asana. What I found is this:

(a). Your Team Members, Freelancers, Outsourcers, Clients, Virtual Assistants, etc., are going to quickly grow frustrated with the gigantic learning curves of these applications.
(b). With the exception of Basecamp, most of the others started off nickeling and diming you to death with their scientfic pricing structures; now, they just stick it to you! Monday now requires a minimum of 3 paid Team Members.
(c). If you are a one person operation, go with something like Todoist. Three or more, I'd go with Basecamp, IMHO.

Of course, with all of this technology, I still have 16 whiteboards in my main office to help me keep track of what's what.
