Can someone advise me on the best forum plugin for the website in WordPress?
Also, if possible please share your experience with the forum plugin which you used.

i don't think using WP is a good idea for a forum based website,
go with xenforo, IPS, vBulletin or anything similar

I kind of agree, but on a low budget bbpress - buddypress do the job just fine.

Xenforo, there is bridge available for WordPress.

Free ones are PhpBB,mybb,smf forum scripts.
There is plenty of WordPress forum plugins are available too.
But I will suggest scripts. they are made for forum-based sites specifically
