I use windows xp at work (still my favourite) and windows 7 at home which is pretty good I must say.

How much faster will my pc probably be if i put a SSD with win 7 ult 64? I have 8GB of gaming ram and 3.4GHZ quadcore amd.

although Windows 7 64-bit is a little slower then Windows XP 64-bit, it supports a lot more programs. For example iTunes does not support Windows XP 64-bit.

Very simple set up:
Sony Laptop with i3-370 2.4ghz CPU, 8gb of RAM, 2 HDDs, and about 15 different VMs.
The main OS is 7 64-bit, but I run XP, 7 and Linux on VMs. (Linux is really light weight for imacros)

using windows xp, ive never felt any need to upgrade since all of my software works flawlessly with it. also haven't found anything impressive enough about the newer versions that entice me into upgrading. hopefully that will change when windows 8 rolls out.

But damn I saw how fast SSD hard drives are, I totally missed them.
Intel i7 Core + 240 GB SDD + 8GB DDR3 = :snowman:

I installed an SSD on a mates computer and his Windows 7 Performance-Points went 2 points up, and everything feels like it doupled it speed. You click Word, 1 sec later it's there.
